Carlos Duarte was a Portuguese voice actor and announcer known for his work on numerous animated series and films for the Portuguese market. His career spanned several decades, during which he became a familiar voice in Portuguese dubbing, particularly for anime and western animation imported for television broadcast in Portugal.

In the realm of anime, Duarte is best recognized for his roles in the Portuguese dub of the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise. He provided the voice for Solomon Muto, the grandfather of the protagonist Yugi, in both the first three seasons of the Yu-Gi-Oh! television series and the film Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Movie. In the same film, he also voiced the antagonist Anubis. His work on the series extended to additional characters, as he also voiced Marik Ishtar and other supporting roles such as Bandit Keith, PaniK, and Esper Roba.

Beyond Yu-Gi-Oh!, his voice acting credits include several other notable animated series. He voiced Hugh Neutron in the Portuguese dub of Jimmy Neutron and Dr. Aki in the second season of Medabots. He was also extensively involved in the dubbing of The Fairly OddParents, where he voiced the father of Timmy Turner, as well as other characters like Dark Laser, Chet Ubetcha, and Doug Dimmadome across multiple seasons.

In addition to his animation work, Duarte had a prolific career as a commercial voice artist and television announcer. He was a locutor, or announcer, for the Portuguese public broadcaster RTP during the 1980s and 1990s. He also lent his voice to advertising campaigns for a vast array of national and international brands, including Continente, Portugal Telecom, Coca-Cola, Nintendo, and Duracell. Professionally, he was a co-founder of the dubbing studio City Som in 2001 and later founded the studio Som d'Ávila. Carlos Duarte passed away on August 12, 2020.
