Janét Mason

Description
Janét Mason is the professional alias of Kara Janét Edwards, an American voice actress who has worked extensively on English-language dubs of Japanese anime, primarily for studios such as FUNimation Entertainment and Crunchyroll. Born in Lubbock, Texas, Edwards began her career in broadcast media rather than animation, working as a writer, producer, and host for Radio Disney in Dallas. She later moved into radio in Charlotte, North Carolina, co-hosting morning shows. In August 2006, while attending a comic convention with several fellow voice actors, she experienced long fan lines for her autograph, a moment that led her to pursue voice acting as a full-time career. She subsequently relocated to Dallas, Texas, to focus on voice-over work.

As an anime voice actor, Janét Mason is best known for her roles in the Dragon Ball franchise, where she voices the child version of Son Goten and the character Videl. Other prominent anime roles include Nymph in Heaven's Lost Property, Sakura Nanamine in Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun, Mio in Tsukimichi -Moonlit Fantasy-, and Mujina in SSSS.Dynazenon. She also appears as Vento of the Front in A Certain Magical Index series, Kyo Sawagi in Ben-To, and Chihiro Fujisaki in Danganronpa: The Animation. Her performance as Nanami Shinonome in the series Dance in the Vampire Bund is another credited role under the Janét Mason name. In video games, her work includes voicing characters such as Athena and Aphrodite in SMITE and Shayne in Battleborn.

Mason has frequently collaborated with the same dubbing studios and voice directors throughout her career, working on numerous productions from the FUNimation and Crunchyroll catalogs. She has also voiced characters in several Dragon Ball theatrical films, including Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, Dragon Ball Super: Broly, and Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO. Her body of work spans a wide range of anime genres, from action and fantasy to comedy and drama, establishing her as a versatile performer in the industry.
