Kether Fernandez

Description
Kether Fernandez is the birth name of Kether Donohue, an American voice actress and on-screen performer known for her work in both anime dubbing and live-action productions. Born in New York City in 1985, she is of Cuban and Spanish descent on her father's side and began her career in the entertainment industry at a young age, securing an agent when she was seven or eight years old. She adopted her mother's maiden name, Donohue, as her professional surname early on but continued to be credited as Kether Fernandez for various voice acting roles.

Fernandez began her career as a voice actress specializing in English dubs of Japanese anime. One of her earliest roles in the medium was providing the voice for Mirabelle Haywood in the series Magical DoReMi in 1999. Throughout the early 2000s, she built a portfolio of credits in the industry, including voice work in popular franchises such as Mew Mew Power and the Pokémon the Series, where she notably voiced the Gym Leader Candice in the Diamond and Pearl installments.

Fernandez is particularly recognized for her role as Midori Kasugano in the English dub of the romantic comedy series Midori Days. This series, which aired in 2004, features the story of a high school boy whose right hand transforms into a tiny girl who is in love with him. Fernandez voiced the title character, Midori Kasugano, providing the English-language performance for the character originally voiced by Mai Nakahara in Japanese. Her work on this series stands as a significant credit within her anime filmography.

Beyond her voice work in animation, Fernandez has pursued a concurrent career in live-action television and film under the name Kether Donohue. She is well known for her portrayal of the unpredictable and insecure Lindsay Jillian on the FXX comedy series You're the Worst, which ran from 2014 to 2019. Her other on-screen appearances include roles in the musical comedy films Pitch Perfect and Pitch Perfect 2 as the a cappella group leader Alice, as well as playing Jan in the live television production Grease: Live! in 2016. She also appeared as a series regular on the CBS sitcom B Positive. This body of work has made her a familiar face in American television, even as her earlier contributions to anime dubbing remain a key part of her career as a voice actor.
