Myco is a Japanese singer and voice actress born on February 27, 1979, in the Shinjuku ward of Tokyo, Japan. Her career in the entertainment industry began as a vocalist; in 2001, at the age of twenty-two, she joined the J-pop band Changin My Life as its main vocalist and lyricist. The band, which also included guitarist Shintaro Tanabe and keyboardist Noritaka Henmi, was signed to the Toshiba EMI record label.

Myco is best known for her dual role as the voice actress for the main character and as the performing artist for the series Looking for the Full Moon, also known as Full Moon o Sagashite. In 2002, she was cast as the voice of Mitsuki Kouyama, a twelve-year-old girl who dreams of becoming a singer despite a serious illness, as well as Mitsukis older singer persona, Full Moon. Simultaneously, her band Changin My Life performed several songs for the anime, including the ending themes New Future, Myself, Eternal Snow, and Love Chronicle. The band Myself was the groups debut single, and Changin My Life gained widespread public recognition for their work on the series.

Following the conclusion of Looking for the Full Moon in 2003, the band Changin My Life disbanded, and Myco transitioned into a solo musical career. Her voice acting roles beyond this signature part include providing the voice of Reira Serizawa in the PlayStation 2 game NANA. In 2008, she became the lead vocalist for the rock band Quintillion Quiz.

Years after her initial work on Looking for the Full Moon, Myco revisited the series in 2021. She recorded a new version of the song Love Chronicle to commemorate the eighteenth anniversary of the original. In a video discussing the re-recording, she spoke emotionally about her memories of working on the anime and dedicated the new version to her late co-stars, voice actors Yasuo Saito Takuto and Chieko Honda Meroko, stating, I will live for you both.
