Jack Aubree

Description
Jack Aubree is a pseudonym for the American voice actor Skip Stellrecht, who was born Henry M. Stellrecht, Jr. on September 5, 1959 in Fullerton, California. He has been active in the entertainment industry since 1981 and is known for his extensive work in anime dubbing, often using alternative names such as Henry Douglas Grey, Hank Malloy, Hank Smith, and Hank Wilspank.

After graduating from high school, Stellrecht developed an interest in acting, starting with commercial work before studying under respected teachers in Hollywood. He performed in several stage roles throughout the Los Angeles area and was a founding member of the Friends and Artist Theatre Ensemble. He entered the field of voice acting by chance through a friend, and it became the primary focus of his successful career.

As Jack Aubree, he has voiced numerous characters in English-language dubs of popular anime series. In the romantic series Marmalade Boy, he played the roles of Satoshi Miwa and Shinichi Namura. In Great Teacher Onizuka, he provided the voice for Toshiyuki Saejima across episodes thirty-four to forty-three, as well as the father of the character Anko. In the cyberpunk film Appleseed, he voiced the antagonist Colonel Hades as well as the character Kudoh. His other anime credits under the name Jack Aubree include the series Brigadoon: Marin & Melan, Reign: The Conqueror, and Requiem from the Darkness.

Beyond his work as Jack Aubree, Stellrecht is widely recognized for several high-profile roles under his other professional names. He is particularly known for voicing the taijutsu master Might Guy in the long-running Naruto franchise, the cold-blooded syndicate enforcer Vicious in the cult classic Cowboy Bebop, and the wandering fighter Ryu in multiple animated adaptations of the Street Fighter video game series. His filmography also includes roles in Code Geass, Wolf's Rain, Trigun, and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. In video games, he has voiced characters including Might Guy in various Naruto titles and Ben Bertolucci in Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles. He has also performed voice work for live-action television series and films.

The use of multiple pseudonyms is a notable recurring element of his career, with several credits attributed to Jack Aubree, Henry Douglas Grey, or other aliases rather than his legal name. His work on landmark anime series of the late 1990s and 2000s, particularly Cowboy Bebop, Naruto, and Street Fighter, represents a significant achievement in the industry, establishing him as a familiar presence in English-language anime dubbing.
