Wally Kurth
Description
Wally Kurth is an American actor and voice artist known for providing the English voice for the character Tamasaburo in the Studio Ghibli animated film Pom Poko. Directed by Isao Takahata and originally released in Japan in 1994, Pom Poko features Kurth in the role of Tamasaburo, a quiet and sensitive tanuki (raccoon dog) who is a close friend of the protagonist Shoukichi. The English-language dub of the film, distributed by Buena Vista Home Entertainment, featured Kurth alongside a cast including Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Clancy Brown, J.K. Simmons, and John DiMaggio.
Beyond his work in anime, Kurth has an extensive career in live-action television, particularly in daytime soap operas. He is widely recognized for his dual role as Ned Ashton on General Hospital and Justin Kiriakis on Days of Our Lives. His voice acting credits also include the role of Agent 6 on the Cartoon Network animated series Generator Rex. Kurth has received recognition for his creative work outside of acting; in 2002, he won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Song for his musical composition.
