Sophie Deschaumes is a French actress, voice director, and adapter with an extensive career in the French dubbing industry. She was born on May 18, 1965, and is also known by her full name, Sophie Archambault de Montfort. Before focusing on voice work, she appeared in two theatrical productions broadcast on the French television program Au théâtre ce soir, playing La Gibosilla in Romancero in 1972 and Béatrice in Le Million the following year.

Deschaumes is best recognized by French-speaking audiences for her prolific work in dubbing for film and television, particularly in animation. One of her most notable roles is providing the French voice for Gina in Hayao Miyazaki's 1992 film Porco Rosso. Gina is the beautiful singer and owner of the Hotel Adriano who holds a long-standing affection for the titular character. Deschaumes also originally performed the French version of the melancholy song Le Temps des Cerises for the film's opening scene. This performance was praised and later became a point of interest for fans when it was replaced in subsequent home video releases by the original Japanese recording. Her filmography also includes the role of Héra in the 1997 French dub of Disney's Hercules, Darling in La Belle et le Clochard and its sequel, Isabella Scorpion in Jungle Jack (Jungledyret), Libba Gardner in the 2020 film Soul, and the voice of La Taupe in the animated features L'incroyable Noël de Grabouillon and Le Trésor du Capitaine Nem'os.

Beyond feature films, Deschaumes has voiced numerous characters in animated television series. In the 1980s, she voiced Pino-Pino in Creamy, merveilleuse Creamy and held multiple roles in series like MASK and Jayce et les Conquérants de la lumière. She was also the voice of Marie Crystal in the Robotech saga, Maggie Sawyer in Superman, l'Ange de Metropolis, and provided various voices for series such as Hercule, Babar: Les Aventures de Badou, and T'choupi et ses amis.

In addition to her on-screen vocal performances, Sophie Deschaumes has worked extensively behind the scenes as a director and adapter for French versions of numerous productions. Her voice direction credits are substantial and include major Disney and Pixar films such as Toy Story, Toy Story 3, Frère des ours, 102 Dalmatiens, Cool Attitude, and Frankenweenie. For live-action projects, she directed French adaptations of long-running series like Grey's Anatomy, Revenge, and Parenthood. Professionally active on both sides of the Atlantic, she has continued her voice direction work in Quebec in recent years.
