Takahiro Yamato

Takahiro Yamato is the author of the light novel series Kaze no Stigma, which served as the original work for a subsequent manga and anime adaptation. The series began as a light novel written by Yamato and illustrated by Hanamaru Nanto. It was serialized in Fujimi Shobo's Dragon Magazine, a publication targeting a seinen audience, starting in January 2002. The story is an action-oriented supernatural narrative centered on a protagonist who wields wind magic after being banished from his clan.

The light novel series was published under Fujimi Shobo's Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint. The publication run continued until March 2010, resulting in a total of twelve volumes. A manga adaptation titled Kaze no Stigma -Kōen no miko- was created, with the story credited to Takahiro Yamato and illustrations by Neko Miyakai. An anime television adaptation consisting of twenty-four episodes was produced by the studio Gonzo and broadcast from April to September 2007.

Takahiro Yamato died on July 20, 2009. Due to his passing, the Kaze no Stigma light novel series was left incomplete. The final volume was published posthumously in March 2010.
