Hikaru Muno is a Japanese novelist and scriptwriter known for his work as an original creator across several anime and manga projects. He is the younger brother of Homura Kawamoto, the creator of the series Kakegurui - Compulsive Gambler, with whom he has frequently collaborated. Muno made his debut as a writer in 2012 with the non-fiction book Bonjin Naitei Senryaku: Job Search Strategies for the Average Joe. He later wrote two novelizations for the Kakegurui series. He has described himself as a "sideline writer" who works across multiple formats including novels, scripts, practical books, and even board game production.
Muno is best known as the original creator of the High Card anime franchise. The original High Card television series premiered in January 2023, followed by a second season, High Card (2024), and the online animated special High Card: The Flowers Bloom in 2024. In all these productions, he is credited with the original work. His role in the Beyblade X project is extensive and multifaceted. He is credited with the original series concept for the anime and also provides scenario assistance. For the Beyblade X manga, which began serialization in Shogakukan's Monthly Coro Coro Comics magazine in June 2023, he shares story credit with his brother Homura Kawamoto. Muno has also written individual scripts for numerous episodes of the Beyblade X anime and took over as series composer starting with episode thirty-eight.
