Joachim Kaps, sometimes credited as Achim Kaps, is a German actor and voice actor born on November 3, 1952 in Görlitz, Germany. Before pursuing a career in the performing arts, he had a background as a decathlete. He studied acting at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin. His early career was rooted in theater, with engagements at the Südthüringisches Staatstheater in Meiningen and later with the pantomime ensemble at the Deutsches Theater Berlin. He also became a familiar face on German television, appearing in over two hundred roles, most notably as the host Achim on the children's show Brummkreisel and in the comedy series Ferienheim Bergkristall.

However, Kaps is most widely recognized for his extensive voice acting career, which includes hundreds of roles in dubs for films and television series, as well as radio plays and audiobooks. Within the anime genre, he has voiced a variety of significant characters. He is best known as the German voice of Tentomon in the Digimon franchise, a role he has performed across multiple installments including Digimon Adventure tri. and the film Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna. His other notable anime roles include Leif Eriksson in Vinland Saga, Toshizou Hijikata in Golden Kamuy, Ziggy in Edens Zero, and the antagonist Ibara in Dr. Stone: New World. He also lent his voice to the character Klarwein in Sirius the Jaeger and has performed roles in Tokyo Ghoul.

Kaps has received recognition for his on-screen work, having twice won the Goldenen Spatz (Golden Sparrow) award at the Gera Children's Film Festival for his roles in Sherlock Holmes & the 7 Dwarfs and Schloss Einstein.
