Frederic Böhle is a German actor, voice-over artist, singer, and presenter who was born in Munich on March 12, 1988. He completed his acting studies at the Mozarteum Salzburg. In the field of anime voice acting, Böhle is best known for his role in the landmark series Neon Genesis Evangelion. He provides the German voice for the character Kensuke Aida, the military-obsessed classmate and friend of protagonist Shinji Ikari. Böhle performed this role for the 2019 Netflix re-dub of the series, as well as for the associated films The End of Evangelion and Evangelion: Death (True)², taking over from previous German voice actor Gerrit Schmidt-Foß.

Beyond his anime work, Böhle has an extensive and diverse career across film, television, theater, and audio production. He gained broader recognition for a main role in the Sat.1 telenovela Anna und die Liebe and later played the recurring role of Theo Lichtenhagen in the ARD series Rote Rosen. His film credits include a small role in Elizabeth Banks 2018 feature Charlie's Angels. Böhle is also an accomplished stage actor, having performed at numerous prominent venues including the Salzburg Festival, the Komische Oper Berlin, and the Staatsoper Nürnberg. Highlights of his stage career include playing John Lennon in the musical Backbeat, Papageno in Zauberflöte Reloaded, and the role of Judas in a staged production of Bachs Matthäus-Passion.

As a voice actor and narrator, Böhle has an extensive body of work in audiobooks and radio plays. He has narrated several titles in Jim Butchers The Dresden Files series, including Wandel and Geistergeschichten. His work has earned notable recognition; his project Opera re:told Carmen, in which he served as narrator, won the German Audiobook Award.
