Jorge Humberto Vasques was a Portuguese actor and voice actor, born in 1958 and passing away on September 26, 2009. He is well recognized for his extensive work in dubbing animated series and films into Portuguese.

His most notable contributions to anime include multiple roles in the classic series Neon Genesis Evangelion. Within that series, Vasques provided the voice for the character Toji Suzuhara, the classmate and later Eva pilot. He also voiced the senior NERV staff members Kozo Fuyutsuki, the Vice Commander, and Shigeru Aoba, the technical operations officer. Additionally, he played the role of Shiro Tokita, a character from the Jet Alone project, in the same series.

Beyond Evangelion, Vasques had a significant role in the Portuguese dub of the Saint Seiya franchise, known as Os Cavaleiros do Zodíaco. He voiced the Dragon Saint Shiryu, the character Maya, and served as the narrator for the film The Legend of the Golden Apple. He continued his work in the Saint Seiya universe by voicing Durval and the narrator in the film The Heated Battle of the Gods.

His voice acting career spanned a wide range of genres, including many Disney and other animated feature films. He was known for voicing the villainous tiger Shere Khan in productions such as The Jungle Book 2 and the series Simba, the King Lion. He also voiced the antagonist Jafar across several Aladdin media, including the 1992 film, its sequel The Return of Jafar, and the television series. Other notable film roles included Felix Boulevardez in The Proud Family Movie, the Ghost in Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, and Governor Ratcliffe in Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World.
