Description
Tracey Moore is a Canadian voice actress, singer, and director whose career in animation began in the mid-1980s. Born on January 17, 1960, in Calgary, Alberta, she started her professional life in musical theatre, performing roles such as Anne Shirley in productions of Anne of Green Gables: The Musical and Dorothy in a touring production of The Wizard of Oz opposite Phyllis Diller. Her extensive voice work spans numerous animated series and films, making her a familiar presence in the industry.

Moore is perhaps best known for originating the English-language voice of the title character in the anime series Sailor Moon. In the DiC Entertainment dub of the 1990s, she voiced Serena Tsukino, the alter ego of Sailor Moon, for thirteen consistent episodes and returned for additional sporadic appearances, bringing a total of fourteen episodes. Beyond her performance, she also served as a voice director for the first eleven episodes of the series, helping to establish the tone for the character and guide the production's early direction.

Beyond Sailor Moon, her anime-related credits include roles in other notable Japanese productions dubbed for North American audiences. She voiced Marvel Comics characters making appearances in anime-influenced series, specifically the White Queen, Emma Frost, and Jean Grey's Phoenix persona in the 1992 X-Men animated series. Her work in the broader animated realm includes some of the most recognizable children's programming of the era. She was the voice of Princess Toadstool in both The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World, and provided the singing voice for Strawberry Shortcake in Strawberry Shortcake's Berry Bitty Adventures. Additional roles include the title character in George Shrinks, Ned Flemkin in Ned's Newt, Warbeak in Redwall, Share Bear and Cheer Bear in various Care Bears series and films, and Zigby in the series of the same name.

Throughout her career, Moore has demonstrated a pattern of recurring collaborations with animation studios, particularly Nelvana, a Canadian production company. She worked on multiple Nelvana projects, including Care Bears, The Adventures of Sam & Max: Freelance Police, and the animated adaptation of Anne of Green Gables: The Animated Series where she voiced the Dryad. Her work extended behind the microphone into direction and casting. In addition to her directing work on Sailor Moon, she acted as a voice director for series such as Bad Dog, Mythic Warriors: Guardians of the Legend, Highlander: The Animated Series, and Cardcaptors. Her career achievements include a Genie Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her live-action role in the 1990 film Defy Gravity.
