Merete Holst, also known professionally as Merete Brettschneider, is a German actress and voice actor recognized for her extensive work in dubbing anime and live-action series. She was born in Hamburg, Germany, in 1974. Holst began her career in the entertainment industry after completing a degree in graphic design, transitioning into acting with small roles on German television.
Her entry into voice acting came through a voiceover project, which led her to create home demo files and apply to talent agencies. She started by dubbing background conversations, but her breakthrough came when she was cast in her first leading voice role as the character Temari in the popular anime series Naruto.
