Linda Gary

Linda Gary was an American voice actress whose work included dubbing Japanese animated films into English. She was born on November 4, 1944, in Los Angeles, California, and began her voice acting career in the 1970s after returning to the United States from Italy, where she had gained experience dubbing Italian films into English. She studied acting under veteran voice actor Daws Butler. Gary passed away on October 5, 1995, in North Hollywood, California.
Gary is widely recognized for her extensive work in animated television series, particularly for Filmation and Hanna-Barbera. She provided numerous voices for the popular 1980s series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, including the characters Teela, Evil-Lyn, Queen Marlena, and the Sorceress of Castle Grayskull. For its spin-off She-Ra: Princess of Power, she voiced Shadow Weaver, Scorpia, Glimmer, and Madame Razz. Her other notable television credits include roles in The Smurfs, The Transformers, and Spider-Man, where she voiced Aunt May Parker.
In the field of anime, Gary is known for her participation in the English-language dub of Hayao Miyazaki’s 1984 film Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. In the 1985 English dub produced for the film's United States release under the title Warriors of the Wind, she voiced the characters Queen Salena and an Old Lady. Her other voice work in animated films includes roles in The Land Before Time series, where she voiced Grandma Longneck, as well as in Happily Ever After and Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night. Gary also contributed voice work to several video games, including King's Quest VI and Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers.
