Hiroto Shimizu is a Japanese actor and voice actor known for his role in the anime series Dark Moon: The Blood Altar. Prior to his work in voice acting, Shimizu appeared in several Japanese television dramas. In 2020, he had a recurring role as Amano Koji in the series High Position (Haipoji 1986-nen, Futatabime no Seishun) and also appeared as a guest star in Rental Nan mo Shinai Hito. The following year, in 2021, he was a guest star on the series Bungo Shounen Johnny's Jrs de Meisaku wo Yomitoita.

The character is inspired by Jay, a member of the K-pop boy band ENHYPEN, on whom the webtoon is based. Regarding his approach to this debut role, Shimizu has stated that he faced the recording with honesty and determination, expressing deep gratitude to the cast and staff for their support.
