Itsuki Akata is a Japanese illustrator and manga creator from Osaka Prefecture, born on March 20, 1975. Active since the 1990s, Akata is affiliated with the PC game company Freefullsoft and, together with Sho Matsumori, established the adult game brand Q-X.

Akata is best known as the illustrator for the light novel series Didn't I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?!, written by FUNA and first published by Earth Star Novel in May 2016. For this work, Akata is credited as the original creator in the illustrator role, and also received an original creator credit for the 2019 anime television adaptation produced by Project No.9. The light novel series was licensed in North America by Seven Seas Entertainment, which also published the English editions of the manga adaptation.

Beyond this notable work, Akata’s career includes a range of illustration and design projects across different media. Akata served as the illustrator for the light novel series Dragon Crisis! beginning in 2007, and later worked as a conceptual designer for its 2011 anime adaptation. Other illustration credits include the light novel series My Angel is Forbidden from Dating and Honjitsu Kaiten! Kunoichi Kissa. In the video game field, Akata provided character designs for games including Kokoro Navi in 2003 and Kokoro Rista! in 2015. Akata also contributed an end card illustration for the tenth episode of the Mashiroiro Symphony anime in 2011. An art collection titled Excellent Punitto was released in September 2009.

Over the course of a career spanning multiple decades, Akata’s artistic style has undergone noticeable evolution, with the character illustrations in later works such as Didn’t I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?! reflecting a distinct aesthetic compared to earlier projects like Dragon Crisis!. As a guest at Anime Central in 2019, Akata was recognized alongside author FUNA for contributions to the light novel and anime industries.
