Jorge Lapuente

Description
Jorge Lapuente is a Mexican voice actor, communicologist, and announcer with a career spanning more than sixty years. He is known for his extensive work in dubbing for Latin American Spanish audiences, as well as his long history in radio broadcasting. In the world of anime, one of his most prominent recent roles is the Narrator in the series Dragon Ball Daima. Lapuente joined the long-running Dragon Ball franchise for this series, taking over the narrator duties from previous voice actors and providing continuity for the story in the Latin Spanish dub. His casting was part of a larger production that brought back many legacy actors to reprise their classic roles while also introducing new voice talent to the franchise.

Beyond his work on Dragon Ball Daima, Lapuente has a substantial history in the entertainment industry. He made his debut in the series El niño del circo. He is perhaps best known for his voice work in dubbing, where he has provided the Latin Spanish voice for numerous acclaimed international actors. His long list of dubbed actors includes Robert Wagner, Jack Nicholson, Gene Hackman, Tony Curtis, Anthony Hopkins, Sean Connery, Marlon Brando, Roger Moore, Michael Caine, and Richard Chamberlain, among many others. Reflecting his standing in the industry, the actor Robert Wagner personally requested that Lapuente be the one to dub his character in the series Ladrón sin destino, which is an unusual occurrence in Latin American dubbing.

In addition to his voice acting for film and television, Lapuente has had a significant career in radio. He served as the institutional voice for the Mexico City station Azul 89 until 2003. At that station, he hosted the program Luna Azul, which he later moved to the station Amor 95.3 under the name Luna de Amor. When Azul 89 was revived as an online station in 2018, Lapuente returned as its official voice and also brought back his program Luna Azul. His career has been marked by his deep, recognizable voice, which has made him a familiar presence both in front of the microphone for dubbing and on the airwaves as a radio host.
