Yasutaka Ebina

Yasutaka Ebina, born December 1, 1962 in Negishi, Taito, Tokyo, Japan, is a Japanese voice actor who is also a professional rakugoka (traditional comic storyteller) and tarento. He is best known professionally as Hayashiya Shōzō IX, having previously performed under the stage name Hayashiya Kobuhei. His voice acting career includes roles in several films and television series. He played Ponkichi in the Studio Ghibli film Pom Poko and provided the voice for Officer Yōichi Terai in the long-running series Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen-mae Hashutsujo, also known as KochiKame. In anime adaptations of Mitsuru Adachi's works, he voiced Kōtarō Matsudaira in Touch and its subsequent films, as well as Takashi Ariyama in Hiatari Ryōkō!. His other anime roles include Kichijō Kairakutei in Oishinbo, Hayashi Riceman in Soreike! Anpanman, Wire in Super Doll Licca-chan, the narrator for Ton Ton Atta to: Niigata no Mukashibanashi, Tapu in Arashi no Yoru ni, and Tadayoshi Nakane in the anime film Ushiro no Shōmen Daare. Beyond voice acting, he is the son of rakugoka Hayashiya Sanpei I and serves as an associate professor of humanities at Josai International University.
