Mairon Bennett

Description
Mairon Bennett is a Canadian actress recognized for her work in voice acting, particularly for her role in the animated series Hello Kitty's Furry Tale Theater. Born on January 1, 1976, in London, Ontario, Canada, she began her career as a child performer in the late 1980s. Her most prominent anime-related voice role is My Melody, a character inspired by the popular Sanrio franchise, in the 1987 series Hello Kitty's Furry Tale Theater. The show, a co-production between DiC Entertainment and Toei Animation, reimagined classic fairy tales with Hello Kitty and her friends as players in a theater troupe. Bennett voiced My Melody, a sweet-natured rabbit and close companion to Hello Kitty, in the show's complete run of thirteen episodes. During this production, she had a notable collaboration with fellow voice actress Tara Strong. Originally, the voice director intended for Bennett to voice Hello Kitty and Strong to voice My Melody, but the two switched roles just before production began. Bennett was ten years old at the time of recording, and this remains her most recognized credit within the voice acting and anime-influenced animation fields. Her other acting credits during this period consisted primarily of live-action roles in made-for-television films, but her work on Hello Kitty's Furry Tale Theater stands as her singular and defining contribution to anime voice-over work. No other significant anime or animation voice roles are documented for her beyond this series.
