Sayu Suzukawa

Description
Sayu Suzukawa is a Japanese actress and voice actor with a rapidly growing career in both live-action and animation. Born on December 27, 2005, in Wakayama Prefecture, she began her journey in the entertainment industry in 2020 after winning a special prize at the New Heroine Audition hosted by the agency Universal Music Artists. This competition saw her selected from a pool of approximately 2,500 applicants, securing her a contract and marking the official start of her professional career.

Suzukawa made her television acting debut in 2023 with roles in several series, including Cool Doji Danshi and the NHK大河剧 Dousuru Ieyasu. That same year, she also appeared in her first film, the horror movie Joshū Rei (Joshu Rei). Over the following years, she continued to build her live-action resume with appearances in the film Kokoro no Futa and a role in the TBS Sunday Theatre drama Mikami Sensei, which began airing in January 2025. In Mikami Sensei, she plays Honami Ichihara, a student described as a voice actor otaku and a member of the anime research club.

Her most notable achievement in voice acting came with her role in the anime film The Colors Within (Kimi no Iro). After an audition process involving over 1,600 candidates, she was chosen to voice the protagonist, Totsuko Higurashi. The film, directed by Naoko Yamada, was released in 2024, marking a major milestone as her first leading role in an animated feature. This early success allowed her to fulfill a personal ambition of becoming a voice actor much sooner than she had anticipated.
