Elisenda Ribas

Description
Elisenda Ribas was a Spanish voice actress known for her work in dubbing, particularly during the expansion of the home video market in Spain in the 1980s. She came from a background in theater before transitioning into dubbing, a move she made at the beginning of that decade due to the high demand for voice talent.

In the field of anime voice acting, Ribas is recognized for her contributions to the Spanish dubbing of works from the Macross franchise. She provided the voices for two characters in the 1984 film The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love?, performing as Vanessa Laird and Moruk Lap Lamiz. In the same production, she also voiced a spaceship's public address system announcer.

Her vocal profile was described as deep and grave, which led to her being cast predominantly for older female characters. She did much of her dubbing work at Soundtrack studios.

Beyond her voice work, Ribas was also an actress in live-action Spanish films and television productions, with a career on screen spanning from the 1970s into the 2000s. Her on-screen credits include roles in the films La plaça del Diamant (1982) and Lisístrata (2002). Elisenda Ribas passed away on March 13, 2020, at the age of 83.
