Antonio Montero
Description
Antonio Montero is a Venezuelan voice actor known for his work in anime dubbing. His career began in theater before he moved into television, film, and eventually voice acting. Beyond performing, Montero has worked as a dubbing operator and director for several studios, including Lips, Lipsync Audio Video, Etcétera Group, and M&M Studios. He is also a musician, television instructor, audiovisual director and producer, and hosted his own podcast on YouTube. Montero studied at the Escuela Superior de Artes IFAD in Caracas, Venezuela. He retired from dubbing and has been living in Chile since the 1990s.
One of Montero's notable anime film roles is Chako Kacka in the 1986 science fiction movie They Were Eleven. His other anime film credits include Strawberry in Magnos (1982). In anime television series, he voiced Bartolomé as an adult in Cristóbal Colón (1990-1991) and Hyuga in Shurato (1989-1990). He also performed voice roles in the OVA series Bubblegum Crisis (1987-1991), specifically for the episodes Guardia de control and Funk.
Montero's work includes animated series outside of Japanese anime, such as providing the voice of Passepartout in the animated film La vuelta al mundo en 80 días (1988) and roles in Las aventuras de Tintín (1991-1992) and Dog City (1992-1994). In live-action dubbing, he voiced characters in films like Kickboxer (1989) and the Never Back Down series.
