Born in Los Teques, Miranda, Venezuela on April 18, 1959, he began his artistic career in 1980 with Radio Caracas Televisión (RCTV), taking on small roles in telenovelas and special programs. His early versatility led to a significant role as Nepomuceno in the children's series La pandilla de los siete, written by a fellow acting school classmate. He subsequently joined the cast of the Venevisión comedy program Bienvenidos in 1982, where he worked for two years. After focusing on voice work and commercial modeling, he became a permanent staff member for several dubbing production companies, including Etcétera Group, Lipsync Audio Video, Estudios Lain, Loops, and Hispanodoblajes. In 1992, he founded his own dubbing company.

Within the realm of anime, Valerio is known for his role as Vidmenir Knume, commonly called Knu, in the 1986 science fiction anime film They Were Eleven. This character is an alien cadet from the planet Vidnu, distinguished by his tall, scaly, and bald appearance, who serves as a calm and logical presence during a tense survival test aboard a derelict spaceship. Knu's unique understanding of delayed sexual differentiation in his species, a phase known as menir, allows him to clarify a fellow cadet's biology for the rest of the group. Other anime film credits include the role of Janus in the 1983 film Magnos. His anime series work includes voicing the Serpent in an episode of Almendrita, providing additional voices in Shurato and Bubblegum Crisis, and taking on the role of the Prince in the Cinderella segment of Cuentos universales.

Beyond Japanese animation, Valerio voiced characters in several Western animated series. He provided the first voice for Toulose in Cadillacs y dinosaurios, performed various voices including the Poet in Heathcliff, and played Kevin, Williams, and other characters in the first two seasons of Cuentos de la cripta. He also voiced Malori and additional characters in Jayce y los guerreros rodantes. His voice acting portfolio extends to live-action film dubbing for the Venezuelan market, including roles in movies such as Kissing a Fool, La novia de Chucky, and No Retreat, No Surrender, as well as the tokusatsu series Liveman as Jou Ohara (the Yellow Lion).
