Yayoi Jinguji was the stage name of Yayoi Fujimoto, a Japanese voice actress born on December 8, 1965, in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. She was active in the voice acting industry from 1989 until her passing in 2017 and was affiliated with the talent agency Arts Vision.

Her career encompassed numerous roles in anime, original video animations (OVAs), video games, and drama CDs. In anime, she voiced the character Shizuka Kawamura in the 1999 series Ai no Wakakusayama Monogatari. Her other anime work from that year included roles in Oruchuban Ebichu as Naoto and others, as well as in Komu-chan gaiku!! as Mr. Izawa and others. Earlier in her career, she had roles in OVAs such as Megazone 23 - Part III - The Awakening of Eve (1989) and BADBOYS (1993).

Jinguji was particularly renowned for her extensive work in video games, where she created several iconic character portrayals. She was best known as the voice of Morrigan Aensland, a character she first voiced in the 1994 game Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors. She reprised this role repeatedly over more than a decade, including in Vampire Hunter: Darkstalkers' Revenge (1995), Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes (1998), Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Fight 2000 (2000), Namco × Capcom (2005), and Tatsunoko vs. Capcom (2008).

Beyond her work for Capcom, Jinguji had notable roles in Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda series. In The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (1998), she voiced the characters Nabooru, the Great Fairy, Koume, and Kotake. She returned to voice the Great Fairy, Koume, and Kotake in the sequel, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (2000). She later reprised these performances for the Nintendo 3DS remakes Ocarina of Time 3D (2011) and Majora's Mask 3D (2015). Her voice work for Koume and Kotake was also featured as archived audio in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (2018).

Her other video game credits include the role of Devilot and Morrigan in Super Puzzle Fighter II X, the Thief in Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow over Mystara, Cassis in Harmful Park, Gao in the Marl Oukoku no Ningyou Hime series, and a female hunter voice option in Monster Hunter Frontier Online. In the field of dubbing, she provided the Japanese voice for Heather Scott, played by Mimi Kajik, in the foreign film Cannonball 3 Atarashiki Chōsenshatachi. She also contributed to several drama CDs, including the Hokuō Shinwa Densetsu series where she played Frigg. Through these varied roles across anime and video games, Yayoi Jinguji left a significant legacy in Japanese voice acting.
