Natsuko Kawaji was a Japanese actress and voice actor born on January 2, 1919. She died on June 5, 2011, at the age of 92. Her professional career in performance began in the theater before she expanded into television, film, and voice acting, remaining active from the 1950s until 2002.

Her voice acting work is known primarily from numerous anime television series produced in the 1970s and 1980s. She played the role of the Grandmother, known as Abuela, in the series Kujira no Josefina, also known as Josephina the Whale. She also served as the Narration for the series Huckleberry no Bōken. Among her other notable anime roles, she voiced Josephine Barry in the 1979 adaptation of Anne of Green Gables. She was also the voice of Madam Sesemann, Clara's grandmother, in the classic series Heidi, Girl of the Alps. Her other television anime work includes roles in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer as Sally, Flower Angel as the Queen, and Miyuki as Ritsu Nakata.

In addition to her work in Japanese animation, Kawaji had an extensive career dubbing foreign films and television series into Japanese. She provided the Japanese voice for characters such as Gladys Kravitz in Bewitched and Grand Duchess Dragomiroff in the Fuji Television edition of Murder on the Orient Express. She also voiced Grandma Tracy in the puppet television series Thunderbirds. Her work extended to tokusatsu, a genre of live-action superhero fiction, where she played the voice of the Mirror Lizard in Kamen Rider Sky.
