Tatsuya Jō

Tatsuya Jō was a Japanese voice actor, actor, and narrator. He was born on December 13, 1931, in Beppu, Ōita Prefecture, Japan. He passed away on February 25, 1995, at the age of 63.

Jō was primarily known for his distinctive work as a narrator, a role he performed across numerous films and television series throughout the 1970s, 1980s, and early 1990s. His extensive narration credits include the 1979 film Galaxy Express 999: The Movie, the 1983 animated war film Barefoot Gen, and the 1986 film Phoenix: Karma Chapter. He also served as the narrator on the 1980 television series Goro Dog and provided narration for films such as An Ocean to Cross, Adrift at Sea, and I Lived, But.... His career also included an early role as a narrator in the 1972 series Time Traveler.

In recognition of his contributions to the field, Jō was posthumously awarded a special achievement award at the Seiyu Awards in 2008.
