Jay Rath
Description
Jay Rath is an English-language voice actor best known for work on the 1980s dub of the anime series Astro Boy. In this production, Rath played the role of Skunk Kusai, a recurring thief and mob leader who serves as a frequent adversary to the title character. Rath also voiced other characters within the same series, including Astro's classmate Billie and Count Walpur Guiss, a roboticist and rival to Dr. Tenma who creates the character Atlas. Additionally, Rath performed the voice for the character credited as Computer Reading Tobio's Biography.
Beyond performing voice work, Rath contributed to the creative adaptation of the series for English-speaking audiences. Rath helped write the English-language lyrics for the Astro Boy theme song, which was recorded by the principal voice cast. Rath also performed numerous additional voices for the show and appeared in every episode of the English dub.
