Chiara Haurand

Description
Chiara Haurand is a German voice actress and singer based in Munich who has built a career in animation and live-action dubbing since committing to the profession full-time in 2022. Her path to voice acting was shaped by extensive behind-the-scenes experience; she earned a bachelor's degree in audiovisual media and a diploma in film sound, and worked as a film sound engineer, game voice designer, and freelance celebrant before pursuing voice work as a primary career. This technical foundation is complemented by years of continuous private training and workshops in speech and voice acting.

Haurand is best known in the anime community for providing the German voice of Iori Watanuki in the series Arpeggio of Blue Steel - Ars Nova and its film adaptation, Arpeggio of Blue Steel: Ars Nova - DC, where she dubbed the character originally voiced by Minami Tsuda. Her anime dubbing credits also include roles in Record of Ragnarok, Vermeil in Gold, A Certain Magical Index, and Tierärztin Vida. Beyond animation, she has voiced numerous characters in live-action films and series, with her extensive filmography listing over sixty speaking roles across productions such as Wendell & Wild, Abbott Elementary, Ted Lasso, and Law & Order.

Her professional network includes regular collaborations with several Munich-based dubbing studios, including FFS München, IYUNO München, TONWERK München, and CREATIVE SOUNDS Hagen. Haurand's vocal range typically covers characters and young adults aged eighteen to thirty-five, and her work spans multiple genres including animation, video games, documentaries, and commercial voiceovers.

In addition to her voice acting career, Haurand works as a freelance celebrant under the professional name The Modern Bard, where she creates personalized wedding and funeral ceremonies that often incorporate themes from fantasy and gaming culture. She has noted that her background in game audio influences her approach to crafting adaptive sound design for ceremonies, treating them as immersive experiences similar to audio dramas.
