John Stocker is a Canadian voice actor with a career spanning over four decades, beginning in the 1970s. He started in on-camera performance, working in improvisational comedy as a member of a troupe called the Zoo Factory, before transitioning primarily to voice-over work for thousands of commercials and hundreds of animated characters.
In anime and animated productions, Stocker is known for a wide range of roles. He voiced the Tin Man in the 1982 Japanese anime feature film The Wizard of Oz, an English-language version of which was produced for North American television. His performance as the Tin Man was noted for conveying a melancholic and caring nature. Other notable roles in animated series include Toad in all three Super Mario Bros. animated series from the late 1980s and early 1990s, Beastly in The Care Bears Family, and Thompson in The Adventures of Tintin.
