Akiko Nakamura is a Japanese actress, singer, and voice actress born on January 3, 1945, in Narashino City, Chiba Prefecture, Japan. She began her entertainment career after being scouted by Shochiku studios in 1963, making her film debut while still in high school. Her career expanded to music in 1965 with her debut song "Blue Fallen Leaves," and she achieved significant success as a singer with hits like "Rainbow Lake" in 1967, which sold 800,000 copies. Her popularity as a singer led to an appearance at the 19th NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen in 1968.

Nakamura's voice acting career began in 1969 when she provided the Japanese voice for Barbara Eden in the American comedy series I Dream of Jeannie. She continued voice work with roles in dubbed foreign television, including voicing Farrah Fawcett in the series Charlie's Angels. In anime, she is known for her role as Jane Flower in the 1982 film Space Adventure Cobra - The Movie, based on the manga by Buichi Terasawa. Jane Flower is a bounty huntress and one of three sisters who represent aspects of the Empress of the Universe. The film's cast also included Shigeru Matsuzaki as Cobra and Toshiko Fujita as Catherine Flower. Later in her voice acting career, she provided the Japanese voice for Whoopi Goldberg in the film Sister Act.

Beyond voice acting, Nakamura continued her on-screen acting career, including a regular role in the television drama Shadow Warriors III. Throughout her multifaceted career, she has maintained her connection to the entertainment industry, appearing on television music programs as recently as 2011. She is affiliated with Berg Corporation as a talent manager.
