ONA
Description
Thousands of years after the fall of the Jedi Order and the rise of endless war, the galaxy exists in an era where lightsabers have become relics of a forgotten age. On the Outer Rim planet Hy Izlan, a sabersmith named Lah Zhima works in secret to change that. His daughter, Kara, is tasked with delivering seven newly forged lightsabers to a hidden gathering of Force users at the Aerial Temple, summoned by the mysterious Margrave Juro who seeks to restore the Jedi.

The journey becomes a trap. Upon arriving at the temple, Kara discovers that most of the assembled candidates are not Jedi at all but Sith acolytes who have intercepted Juro's summons. Their crimson blades ignite, revealing their intent to destroy any hope of a Jedi revival. Only a young man named Ethan, whose own blade glows blue, stands with Kara. The unassuming droid that greeted them then reveals itself to be Margrave Juro in disguise, and a desperate battle ensues. During the fight, Kara, who initially doubted her own connection to the Force, sees her colorless training blade transform into a brilliant green, marking her emergence as a true Jedi.

The upcoming series, Star Wars Visions Presents The Ninth Jedi, continues Kara's journey less than a year after these events. Now actively hunted by remnants of the Sith and Jedi hunters, Kara must navigate a galaxy that has little use for peacekeepers. She struggles with the disappearance of her father, who was captured during the attack on their home, and the immense challenge of helping Juro rebuild an order that has been extinct for generations. The narrative explores the rise of new dark side threats, some of which draw from cosmic horror influences, as Kara searches for her father and embraces her destiny as one of the first Jedi of a new age. The series is produced by the anime studio Production I.G and is scheduled for release in 2026.
