Description
A mysterious thief known only as W has stolen the treasure from a local school. Princess Peach informs Mario of the crime, and he quickly deduces that the culprit is his rival, Wario. Mario sets off in pursuit, encountering various enemies and crashing his kart into a lake during the chase. He then finds a Super Carrot and transforms into Bunny Mario, a form from Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, which allows him to leap into the air. In the skies, he confronts Wario piloting his plane, the Bulldog. After a brief aerial struggle, Mario defeats Wario and recovers the stolen treasure, which is revealed to be a box of comic books.
In a separate adventure, the cheerful pink hero Kirby discovers a lost puppy whose mother has disappeared. Determined to help, Kirby journeys across the land to find the missing parent. His search leads him to the castle of his frequent adversary, King Dedede. However, when Kirby arrives, he finds that the king has not captured the mother dog but is instead kindly tending to her injured paw by putting a bandage on it. The misunderstanding is resolved happily, and the group celebrates the puppy’s reunion with its mother by sharing a large feast together.
These two short stories form the entirety of this Japanese direct-to-video release, which uses a format of still pictures accompanied by text to teach kanji characters to young children. The narrator, who also provides the voices for Mario and Kirby, guides viewers through each adventure. This video is notable for being the first piece of media to give the character Kirby a spoken voice. After the two segments conclude, the video includes brief advertisements for a Doraemon drawing kit and a Yoshi-themed camera.
