TV-Series
Description
Ruri Aoki wakes up one morning to find horns growing from her head. Her mother remains entirely unfazed and casually reveals that Ruri is half-dragon; her father is a dragon living deep in the mountains. Despite this shocking news, Ruri decides to go to school as usual, hoping for an ordinary day. Instead, she is quickly swarmed by curious classmates wanting to touch her horns and take selfies, realizing that her life as a half-dragon will be anything but normal.

The story is set in a contemporary Japanese high school where the existence of supernatural beings like dragons is not widely known but is accepted by some with surprising ease. As Ruri tries to maintain her daily routine, she begins to manifest more draconic traits and abilities, including breathing fire, discharging electricity, spitting venom, and developing enhanced healing. These abilities often emerge involuntarily, such as sneezing fire during class, leading to chaotic and sometimes painful situations.

Ruri navigates these challenges with the support of a small group of friends. Her longtime friend Yuka Hagiwara walks with her to school and remains by her side. A cheerful classmate named Airi Kashiro helps her with schoolwork and organizes study groups. Another student, Ryunosuke Yoshioka, becomes an unlikely acquaintance after his hair is singed by Ruri's first accidental fire breath. Her homeroom teacher, Mr. Takemoto, is an easygoing but observant figure who encourages her participation in school life.

The narrative focuses on several arcs centered on Ruri coming to terms with her identity. One early arc follows her initial reluctance to return to school after her fire-breathing incident, as she grapples with anxiety over how others perceive her. With the understanding of her mother and classmates, she gradually returns, only to face further complications as new powers like electricity discharge manifest. Another arc explores the social dynamics of her classroom, including a classmate, Akari Maeda, who initially dislikes Ruri for appearing to not care about others. Through interaction, they develop a more complex understanding of each other. Later developments involve Ruri participating in school events like Sports Day, where her physical abilities, now augmented by her dragon constitution, create both advantages and awkward situations.

An anime television series adaptation has been announced and is in production. Kyoto Animation is attached as the studio, but specific details such as the broadcast date, episode count, and voice cast have not yet been confirmed. The story is expected to follow the manga, which depicts Ruri's journey as she gradually learns to live with her unique heritage while navigating the ordinary, and often humorous, struggles of high school life.
