Description
Miyu Suzuki is a bubbly and outgoing high school girl who cares deeply about fitting in with her peers, while Yusuke Tani is her quiet and introverted classmate who speaks his mind without worrying about what others think. Despite their polar opposite personalities, Suzuki has developed a massive crush on Tani, though she struggles to express her feelings. After a slight misunderstanding leads her to confess, she is surprised and delighted to discover that Tani returns her feelings, and the two begin dating.

The story is set in a contemporary Japanese high school and follows Suzuki and Tani as they navigate their new relationship. A significant departure from typical romantic comedy pacing, the series focuses not on whether the couple will get together, but on how their relationship develops after they become a couple. Suzuki must learn to be more honest about her feelings and less concerned with appearances, while the reserved Tani gradually opens up and reveals a surprisingly smooth and considerate side.

Alongside the main couple, the series features an ensemble of friends whose own relationships and personal struggles receive substantial focus. Kentaro Yamada, one of Suzuki's energetic and airheaded best friends, becomes interested in Natsumi Nishi, an extremely shy girl from another class who struggles with social anxiety. Their awkward but heartwarming dynamic eventually leads to them dating. Another key pair involves Shuji Taira, a cynical and self-deprecating student who works at a convenience store, and Shino Azuma, a friendly girl who often overthinks trying to look cool. Their complicated history from middle school and evolving relationship form a major narrative arc.

Throughout the series, the characters experience standard high school events such as study sessions, summer festivals, culture festivals, and class field trips, all of which serve as backdrops for romantic and personal growth. The story balances comedic moments with sincere explorations of social anxiety, self-consciousness, and the courage required to be vulnerable with others. As the series concludes, Tani is accepted to a university and must move away, leading the couple to plan for a long-distance relationship while cherishing the time they have left together in high school.
