The second story arc of Disney Twisted-Wonderland The Animation begins as Night Raven College prepares for its annual Spelldrive tournament, a high-stakes team sport that tests the physical and magical prowess of each dormitory's best athletes, with matches broadcast across the magical world. For the past two years, the Diasomnia dorm has dominated the competition almost single-handedly through the overwhelming power of its housewarden, Malleus Draconia. As the new tournament approaches, a series of suspicious accidents begins to incapacitate top players from multiple dorms, rendering them unable to compete. Concerned that these are deliberate attacks rather than mere misfortune, Headmage Dire Crowley assigns the magicless newcomer Yuuka Hirasaka and her partner Grim to investigate the incidents.

The investigation draws Yuuka, Grim, and several members of Heartslabyul dorm including Riddle Rosehearts, Ace Trappola, and Deuce Spade into the territory of Savanaclaw. This dormitory, founded on the tenacity of the King of Beasts and inspired by The Lion King, houses many of the academy's most naturally gifted athletes and martial artists. The key figure emerging as a suspect is Leona Kingscholar, the powerful and cunning housewarden of Savanaclaw, a third-year student with formidable magical abilities but a deep-seated resentment toward those born with greater natural talent or royal privilege. Alongside Leona are his quick-witted second-year underclassman Ruggie Bucchi, who often handles the practical details of Leona's schemes, and the earnest first-year Jack Howl, a physically imposing but principled student who values hard work and fair competition.

As the investigation progresses, the group identifies Jack Howl as a potential next target of the culprit's plot. The narrative follows their efforts to uncover the truth behind the accidents while navigating the volatile and competitive environment of Savanaclaw, a dorm situated in a desert-like area alongside the Spelldrive stadium. Leona's determination to defeat Malleus Draconia by any means necessary, even underhanded methods, drives the central conflict, forcing the protagonists to prevent further injuries and expose the scheme before the tournament begins.
