Description
Banaza, an ordinary merchant from the Royal Capital Paluma, is forcibly summoned to the Magical Kingdom of Klyrode as a candidate for hero. The kingdom annually summons heroes from other worlds to fight in its war against the Dark One and his demon army. Banaza’s stats are abysmally average, and he has no magic or combat ability. Deemed unfit, he cannot return home and is abandoned to the monster-infested Delavaza Forest. Shortly after arriving, he kills a low-level slime and reaches level two. Upon leveling up, his status screen replaces all numerical values with infinity symbols, granting him mastery over every spell and infinite physical attributes. To avoid being hunted by those who would exploit his power, he disguises himself using transformation magic, takes the name Flio, and resolves to live a quiet, peaceful life.
While exploring, Flio encounters Fenrys, a high-ranking demon of the wolf-like Garou tribe and a member of the Dark Army’s Four Heavenly Hosts. She attacks him, but Flio easily overpowers her. Instead of killing or enslaving her, he treats her with kindness, and Fenrys, moved by his gentleness, swears loyalty to him. They quickly form a deep bond and decide to pretend to be a married couple as a cover. Over time their relationship becomes genuinely romantic, and Fenrys becomes his devoted wife. They settle into domestic life, building a home and gradually attracting a surrogate family of former enemies and misfits: the knight Balirossa, the priestess Blossom, the mage Belano, the hellcat Uliminas, the demon Damalynas, and others. Each character has their own loyalties and abilities, and they all come to respect Flio’s overwhelming strength and his earnest desire for peace.
The central narrative conflict is the ongoing war between humans and demons. The kingdom of Klyrode continues to summon heroes, while the Dark One’s forces press their attack. Flio remains largely neutral at first, but as his circle of friends grows to include both human and demon allies, he becomes uniquely positioned to broker peace. He uses his godlike abilities to resolve major threats quietly, often without revealing his full power. The story arcs follow the formation of his household, the gradual exposure of his true capabilities to the wider world, and his growing determination to find a way for both races to coexist without further bloodshed. A notable early arc involves Flio and his companions confronting the Four Heavenly Hosts one by one, either befriending or neutralizing them, which weakens the Dark Army’s resolve and opens the door for diplomacy.
Throughout the series, Flio remains a calm, humble protagonist who values a relaxed daily life above all else. The tone balances fantasy adventure, romantic comedy built on the sincere affection between Flio and Fenrys, and a gentle subversion of typical isekai hero tropes. The anime adaptation, produced by J.C.Staff, aired from April to June 2024, covering twelve episodes of this ongoing story, with a second season later announced.
