Description
"Gundam AGE" is set in a future where humanity has colonized space, but conflict arises between Earth and its colonies. The story spans three generations, each focusing on a different protagonist from the Asuno family, who pilot the advanced Gundam AGE mobile suit. The narrative begins with Flit Asuno, a young boy living on the colony Orb, who witnesses the destruction of his home by an unknown enemy called the UE (Unknown Enemy). After discovering the AGE System, a device capable of evolving the Gundam, Flit dedicates his life to protecting humanity and defeating the UE. Over time, he becomes a seasoned commander and develops the Gundam AGE-1, which evolves through combat data.

The second generation shifts focus to Flit’s son, Asemu Asuno, who struggles with his identity and the pressure of living up to his father’s legacy. Asemu pilots the Gundam AGE-2 and faces the Vagans, the true identity of the UE, who are revealed to be humans from Mars seeking revenge against Earth for their oppression. Asemu’s story explores themes of rivalry and camaraderie, particularly through his relationship with Zeheart Galette, a Vagan pilot and former friend.

The final generation centers on Kio Asuno, Flit’s grandson, who inherits the Gundam AGE-3. Kio’s journey emphasizes understanding and empathy as he encounters the Vagans and learns about their struggles. Unlike his predecessors, Kio seeks to end the war through peaceful means, challenging Flit’s hardened stance on conflict. The series culminates in a climactic battle that ties together the fates of the Asuno family and the Vagans, addressing the cyclical nature of war and the possibility of reconciliation.

Throughout the series, the Gundam AGE evolves alongside its pilots, reflecting their growth and the changing nature of the conflict. The multi-generational structure allows for a broad exploration of war, legacy, and the consequences of hatred, while maintaining a focus on the personal struggles of each protagonist. The series balances action with character-driven drama, offering a comprehensive look at the impact of war across different perspectives and time periods.

11Reunion at Minsry
The Diva docks at the space colony Minsry to prepare for the assault on the UE base. Flit,Grodek, Woolf, and the Euba leader travel to the Birmings mansion for a strategy meeting. On the way, Flit hears a familiar sound and runs ahead. He finds Yurin, the girl he met at Nora, now living at the mansion. Alzack Birmings, a wealthy ally of Don Boyage, agrees to support Grodek's attack plan. Alzack reveals himself as Yurin's adoptive father. Flit spends time with Yurin as the crew prepares for the upcoming mission. Flit promises Yurin he will return after the battle ends. On their return to the Diva, Federation soldiers in a boat and two Genoace mobile suits block the path. The soldiers arrest Grodek for treason. Flit launches in the Gundam and disables the two Genoace mobile suits without destroying them. The Diva crew rescues Grodek from Federation custody. Grodek states that the Federation knows the true identity of the UE but is actively covering it up. The AGE system begins upgrading the Diva for the coming assault on the UE fortress. Grodek remains a wanted fugitive, and the Diva now faces opposition from both the UE and the Federation.
12反逆者たちの船出
The Diva prepares to depart from Minsry, aiming to reach the UE stronghold. A Federation fleet intercepts the ship and demands custody of Captain Grodek. Grodek refuses to surrender, leading to a tense standoff. Ships from the rival colonies Zalam and Euba arrive and move to defend the Diva. The Unknown Enemy (UE) launches a surprise attack on the assembled fleet, breaking the stalemate. Flit, Woolf, and Largan launch in their mobile suits to engage the UE forces. The Federation fleet allows the Diva to pass and fires on the common enemy, forcing the UE to retreat. After the battle, Grodek theorizes that Flit may be an "X-Rounder," a person with extrasensory perception. Back on Minsry, the masked man Desil threatens Yurin, who is revealed to possess X-Rounder abilities herself. The episode concludes with Yurin in danger as Flit remains unaware of her capture.
13Space Fortress Ambat
The Diva receives a new beam weapon created by the AGE System as the fleet prepares for its assault on the UE space fortress Ambat. Grodek commands the fleet from the bridge, and the mobile suit forces launch toward the fortress. The fleet approaches Ambat and opens fire, but the UE does not respond immediately. A massive UE battleship, the Fa Bose, emerges from behind a forcefield, and the Diva transforms into its assault landing mode to engage. Flit pilots the Gundam into enemy formation, drawing multiple UE mobile suits toward himself and destroying them in sequence. The Diva moves within firing range and unleashes its Photon Blaster Cannon, heavily damaging the Fa Bose. A section of the damaged enemy ship detaches and hurtles toward the Diva. Ract attempts to stop the debris with a suicide attack, but Flit intervenes and prevents the sacrifice. Mukured Madorna arrives in his custom red mobile suit and destroys the incoming section with his hyper mega cannon. Emily accepts Flit's decision to continue fighting aboard the Gundam, offering her full support. Desil suits up and prepares to launch in his Zedas mobile suit, with Yurin appearing behind him in UE custody. The battle for Ambat ends with the UE fleet damaged but not destroyed, and Desil moves to engage the Federation forces directly as Yurin remains trapped behind enemy lines.
14悲しみの閃光
The battle for the space fortress Ambat continues as the Diva sustains damage. Flit Asuno engages the UE pilot Desil Galette in combat. Desil deploys his secret weapon: a pink mobile suit piloted by Yurin L’Ciel,Flit’s friend from the colony. Yurin cannot control the suit and functions as a tool for Desil to amplify his X-Rounder abilities. During the duel, Desil moves to deliver a killing blow to Flit. Yurin breaks free of her control long enough to intercept the attack. Desil’s weapon impales her mobile suit, causing it to explode. Yurin dies in the explosion. Enraged by her death, Flit attacks Desil’s suit with overwhelming ferocity and disables it. Flit leaves Desil drifting in space without delivering a final blow. He then refits the Gundam into the Titus armor and charges the enemy fortress alone. Flit tears open a hangar door, allowing the Diva to dock inside the fortress. The Diva’s crew arms themselves for close-quarters combat against the UE inside the base. Flit returns to the Diva, reconfigures the Gundam to its Normal form, and joins the boarding party while refusing to respond to communications. The episode closes with an enemy pilot activating a massive new mobile suit designed for Earth combat.
15その涙、宇宙に落ちて
The crew of the Diva infiltrates the space fortress Ambat. Flit Asuno engages UE commander Yark Dole in his mobile armor, the Defurse. Woolf Enneacle assists Flit in disabling the massive machine. Yark Dole escapes the destroyed mobile armor on foot. Flit pursues him through the fortress. Both arrive simultaneously at the control room where Grodek Ainoa and his team have secured the area. Grodek confronts Yark Dole and reveals that Dole led the UE attack on the colony where Grodek's family lived. Grodek states his intention to execute Dole for revenge. Yark Dole then discloses the UE's true identity. He explains that the UE, who call themselves Veigans, are survivors of the Earth Federation's failed Mars colony project. The Federation abandoned the colonists after a Martian disease killed many participants. The survivors formed their own nation and now seek to return to Earth. Flit hesitates with his gun drawn on Dole. Grodek shoots and kills Yark Dole before Flit can act. Before dying, Dole activates Ambat's self-destruct sequence. The Diva crew escapes the fortress before the explosion destroys it. In the aftermath, the Federation arrests Grodek for his actions. Grodek accepts full responsibility during his court-martial and receives a prison sentence. The Federation claims credit for the victory at Ambat. The episode closes with a new Veigan ship departing from a Martian orbital structure, carrying operatives who discuss their leader Ezelcant's plan to reclaim Earth.
17Friendship - Love - and Mobile Suits
Asemu Asuno continues to conceal his identity as the Gundam pilot. Zeheart Galette receives orders that the Gundam is likely hidden at the Asuno residence. Zeheart joins the mobile suit club alongside Asemu and his friends to gain access. The four students prepare for an upcoming mobile suit tournament. Asemu invites the team to his house to research mobile suit data. Zeheart uses the opportunity to search the property and locates the Gundam in the stable. During the tournament,Asemu wins several matches in his club's mobile suit. Zeheart disappears from the tournament venue. A Veigan mobile suit activates at the Asuno residence. Vargas contacts Asemu, who rushes home and launches in the Gundam. Zeheart moves to support his superior officer in battle. Vargas deploys a smog field, which Asemu uses as cover to destroy one enemy mobile suit. Zeheart pins down the Gundam in combat. Romary arrives on the scene, and her presence distracts Zeheart long enough for Asemu to break free. Federation mobile suits arrive, prompting Zeheart to retreat. The Federation relocates the Gundam to one of its facilities, forcing Zeheart to adapt his infiltration strategy for future operations.
18The Battle at Graduation
Asemu and Zeheart reach their graduation day at the school colony. During the ceremony,Asemu announces his plan to join the Federal Forces after the break. Military police interrupt the proceedings and move to arrest Zeheart as a spy. A Veigan operative creates a diversion, allowing Zeheart to break free from the soldiers. Zeheart escapes to his mobile suit, a Zedas R, and launches into the colony. Vargas contacts Asemu and dispatches the Gundam via trailer to the battle zone. Asemu pilots the Gundam to confront the intruder, unaware of the pilot's identity. Zeheart overpowers Asemu in combat and pins down the Gundam. From his cockpit, Zeheart directly reveals to Asemu that he has been his enemy all along. Romary witnesses this revelation from the ground. Commander Woolf arrives in his G-Bouncer and forces Zeheart to retreat. The confrontation leaves Asemu shaken by Zeheart's parting claim that Asemu is too kind to be a warrior. Asemu must now reconcile his friendship with Zeheart against the reality of Zeheart's loyalty to the Veigan cause.
19Asemu's Departure
Asemu Asuno enlists in the Earth Federation Forces and receives an assignment to the battleship Diva. Romary Stone also joins the military and serves as a bridge operator on the same vessel. Millias Alloy assumes command as the Diva's captain, while Dique Günhale becomes the ship's new technician. Woolf Enneacle takes charge of the Diva's mobile suit squadron as Asemu's direct commander. The Vagan place Zeheart Galette in command of their Earth occupation forces, positioning him as the primary antagonist against the Diva. The Diva departs for the Federation headquarters at Big Ring, carrying the newly completed Gundam AGE-2. The Vagan attack the Diva, suspecting the presence of a Gundam on board, forcing the ship into combat. As the AGE System performs final adjustments on the AGE-2, Asemu must wait inside the hangar while other pilots launch to defend the ship. When the battle turns desperate, Asemu launches in the AGE-2 and engages the Vagan forces. He disobeys direct orders during the sortie but demonstrates his capability as the new Gundam pilot. Asemu's unauthorized actions result in a punishment of confinement to his quarters pending the next engagement. The episode ends with Zeheart observing Asemu's performance, setting up their future rivalry as opposing forces in the ongoing war.
20赤いモビルスーツ
The Vagan forces complete a new mobile suit, the Zeydra, designed specifically to harness Zeheart Galette’s X-Rounder abilities. Zeheart tests the Zeydra and finds its performance satisfactory, unlike the earlier Zedas-R which failed to keep pace with his powers. Meanwhile, Desil Galette, Zeheart’s older brother and a former adversary of Flit Asuno, awakens from cold sleep. Desil expresses resentment upon learning that Zeheart has been appointed commander of the Earth invasion force. Aboard the Diva, Asemu Asuno and the crew navigate a dangerous shoal zone to avoid enemy detection. Zeheart anticipates their route and launches a surprise ambush with his new red mobile suit. Asemu sorties in the Gundam AGE-2 to defend the ship but struggles to treat Zeheart as an enemy due to their past friendship. Zeheart exploits this hesitation and uses his superior X-Rounder abilities to gain the upper hand in combat. He defeats the Gundam but deliberately spares Asemu, warning him not to appear on the battlefield again. The Diva sustains damage but escapes the ambush. Desil witnesses Zeheart’s mercy and views it as a weakness, setting up a future rivalry between the two Vagan commanders.
21Episode 21
The Diva arrives at Big Ring, the Earth Federation Forces command center in Earth orbit. Flit Asuno, now the base commander, informs the crew of an impending Veigan attack on the station. Asemu struggles with his recent defeat by Zeheart and his friend's betrayal. He enrolls in the military's next-generation pilot training program to assess his abilities. The evaluation gives Asemu a D grade in X-Rounder aptitude, confirming his lack of special spatial awareness. Asemu becomes depressed over the gap between himself and both his father and his former friend Zeheart, both natural X-Rounders. Woolf Enneacle finds Asemu in this state and takes him to Madorna's Workshop to lift his spirits. At the workshop, Asemu meets Rody Madorna, the owner's son, who created a combat simulation machine. Asemu enters the simulator and faces programmed versions of his father's Gundam AGE-1 and Zeheart's Zeydra. He holds out for only a few minutes before the simulations destroy his virtual mobile suit. Despite the loss, Asemu requests another attempt immediately, showing his determination to improve through conventional training. Meanwhile, Veigan forces receive orders to mobilize a fleet from Phobos toward Big Ring. Zeheart commands the Earth suppression forces and prepares for the assault on the Federation headquarters. The episode ends with both sides making final preparations for the decisive battle at Big Ring, with Asemu still seeking a way to overcome his limitations as a normal pilot facing X-Rounder enemies.
22Big Ring Absolute Defense Line
The Veigan launch a full-scale assault on the Earth Federation's orbital fortress,Big Ring. Zeheart assumes command of the Veigan Earth suppression force and mobilizes their X-Rounder unit, the Magicians 8. The Federation's Big Ring commander, Flit, deploys the battleship Diva and its mobile suit squadrons to counter the attack. Flit counters Veigan technological superiority with tactical maneuvers, ordering coordinated strikes from the fortress and mobile suits. The Veigan escalate by sending Zeheart and Desil into battle. Asemu engages Zeheart while Woolf confronts Desil, but both Federation pilots struggle against the X-Rounders. Flit launches in the AGE-1 Gundam and directly engages Desil. Desil seeks revenge for his humiliation by Flit twenty-six years earlier. Flit exploits Desil's aggressive focus on revenge to gain a tactical advantage. Zeheart, observing the Federation forces pushing back the Veigan, orders a full retreat despite Desil's refusal to withdraw. The Federation successfully defends Big Ring. After the battle, Asemu expresses frustration with his father's dismissive attitude toward him. Following the victory, Asemu's resentment toward Flit deepens, while the Federation begins investigating possible Veigan collaborators within Earth-aligned colonies.
23The Suspicious Colony
Grodek Aiona receives his release from Federation military prison. Flit Asuno joins the Diva crew for a secret mission to Solon City. Intelligence suggests the Techno Solon corporation secretly supports the Vagan war effort. Woolf Enneacle infiltrates the company facility undercover. He discovers a hidden hangar containing Vagan mobile suits. Flit orders an immediate mobile suit launch to secure evidence and neutralize the threat. Asemu objects to the operation, fearing civilian casualties within the colony. Flit overrules his son and proceeds with the attack. The battle erupts inside the colony, damaging civilian structures. Asemu eventually sorties in the AGE-2 Gundam and engages the enemy forces. He destroys the Vagan mobile suits, and the secret base self-destructs. Federation military police place Asemu in the brig for disobeying orders. Flit visits Grodek in a bar after the mission concludes. Asemu's defiance against his father's command creates new tension within the Diva's chain of command.
24X-Rounder
Grodek Aiona meets Flit Asuno in a bar after his release from prison. Grodek warns Flit that a traitor within the Federation military leaks information to the Vagans. Asemu Asuno leaves the Diva's brig and walks through Solon City's entertainment district. Zeheart Galette confronts Asemu in the city and asks him to abandon the war. Asemu refuses because he needs to prove himself and gain recognition from others. Zeheart draws a gun on Asemu, but Romary Stone arrives and interrupts the confrontation. Asemu disarms Zeheart and points the weapon back at him, but Romary steps between them to protect Zeheart. Zeheart escapes and launches in his mobile suit, the Zeydra. Asemu sorties in the Gundam AGE-2 and attacks Zeheart in space. Flit arrives in the Gundam AGE-1 and engages Zeheart directly while Asemu receives orders to support other units. Dique Gunhale deploys a new upgrade for the AGE-2: the Double Bullet装备. Asemu destroys two members of the Vagan's Magician Eight unit with the new armament, forcing Zeheart to retreat. Back at the bar, a young man named Arabel Zoi stabs Grodek to death. Arabel is the son of Yark Dole, a man Grodek killed years ago for revenge. Before dying, Grodek deletes the data containing the traitor's identity from his device. Flit arrives at the scene and finds Grodek dead. Flit loses the critical information about the Federation traitor, and Asemu now views Romary as untrustworthy after she shielded his enemy.
25The Terrifying Mu-szell
Flit and Dique examine a destroyed Veigan mobile suit and discover the Mu-szell system,a device inside the cockpit that enhances a pilot's abilities to match an X-Rounder. The system also places significant strain on the user's brain. Asemu overhears their conversation and immediately requests to use the device, but Flit refuses. The Veigan Magicians Eight unit, reduced in number, grows frustrated with following Zeheart's orders. Desil overhears their complaints and insists on joining their next attack. The Veigan forces close in on the Diva. Asemu attempts to take the Mu-szell helmet from the lab, but Dique stops him. After Dique leaves, Asemu takes the helmet and equips it on his Gundam. During the battle, Asemu activates the Mu-szell system and shoots down another member of the Magicians Eight. Woolf, despite not being an X-Rounder, defeats another Magician pilot. Desil engages the Diva directly, but Flit repels him using only the ship's point-defense cannons, forcing Desil to retreat. Asemu returns to the Diva, visibly affected by the Mu-szell system's side effects. Woolf advises Asemu to stop chasing X-Rounder power and instead aim to become a "Super Pilot" through skill alone, like himself. Asemu accepts this advice. At the episode's close, Veigan warships appear in orbit near Earth, signaling an imminent invasion.
26地球 それはエデン
Vagans launch a full-scale invasion of Earth by targeting the industrial colony Nortrum with the mobile fortress Dauness. Federation forces deploy the Diva as the flagship of the defensive fleet. The Federation activates its new super weapon, the Photon Ring Ray, to counter the Vagan assault. Zeheart warns the Vagan main ship, allowing it to survive the Federation cannon's blast. Desil, angered by being assigned to reserve forces, disobeys orders and launches into battle on his own. Asemu pilots the Gundam AGE-2 Double Bullet and engages Zeheart and Desil simultaneously. Woolf fights alongside Asemu against Desil. Desil activates his X-rounder ability to take control of nearby mobile suits, turning them against the Federation forces. Woolf pushes Asemu out of danger and takes a fatal beam saber strike from Desil. Before his mobile suit explodes, Woolf tells Asemu to become a super pilot. Enraged by Woolf's death, Asemu attacks Desil relentlessly and destroys his mobile suit. Flit launches in the AGE-1 Gundam as the battle for Earth's orbit intensifies.
27I Saw a Red Sunset
The Federation fleet closes in on the Veigan fortress ship Downes. Flit sorties in the Gundam AGE-1 and lands a direct hit on the fortress, but the vessel's energy shield remains active. The Diva deploys the Photon Ring Ray cannon, which successfully neutralizes the fortress's defensive barrier. The Downes then changes course and heads directly for Earth's atmosphere, dragging the Diva along with its trajectory. Remi Ruth, an engineer on the Diva, exits the ship to repair the cannon's damaged firing mechanism. During the repair, a Veigan mobile suit attacks her position, and she dies from the strike. Obright, who had proposed marriage to Remi earlier, witnesses her death from the bridge. The Diva fires its repaired cannon again, freeing itself from the fortress's gravitational pull. The Downes remains on a collision course with Earth. Asemu Asuno pilots the Gundam AGE-2 into the fortress's interior to destroy its reactor core from within. Zeheart Galette, piloting his own mobile suit, follows Asemu into the Downes. Although they are enemies, both share the immediate goal of preventing the fortress from impacting the planet. They agree to a temporary truce and fight together to reach the central core. Zeheart guides Asemu to the core's location. Asemu plants explosives and activates the fortress's self-destruct sequence. He and Zeheart escape the Downes moments before it explodes in the upper atmosphere. The Diva descends to Earth's surface to recover Asemu. The episode ends with the Diva landing on an unfamiliar continent, setting the stage for the next phase of the conflict as the war moves from space to the Earth itself.
28Earth Sphere Turmoil
One year after the Battle of Nortrum,Earth holds a memorial ceremony called "Day of Courage" at the capital city of Brussia. Prime Minister Orphenoa delivers a speech to the gathered citizens. Fleet Commander Flit Asuno enters the venue and publicly accuses Orphenoa of treason. Flit announces that the Prime Minister has secretly collaborated with the Vagans. Military forces loyal to Flit arrest Orphenoa and other officials suspected of collusion. The arrests purge the Earth Federation's leadership of internal enemies. The Vagan dispatch Commander Medel Zant to eliminate their compromised spy. Medel launches an attack on the ceremony site with a mobile suit. Asemu Asuno intercepts the assault in his newly repainted white Gundam AGE-2. The white color scheme honors his fallen mentor, Woolf Enneacle. Asemu destroys the Vagan mobile suit, ending the immediate threat. Romary Stone leaves the military and returns to Tordia. Asemu confesses that he fights to protect her and no other reason. He and Romary marry in a ceremony attended by their comrades. The Earth Federation restructures its command under Flit's temporary leadership. Flit declares the complete extermination of the Vagans as his sole objective. The conclusion of Asemu's story sets the stage for the next generation to inherit the Gundam and his grandfather's unyielding war.
29Grandpa's Gundam
Asemu Asuno departs on his final mission shortly after his son Kio's birth and is subsequently listed as missing in action. Thirteen years later,Kio grows into a 13-year-old boy living peacefully in the town of Olivernotes under the care of his grandfather, Flit Asuno. The Vagan launch a large-scale assault on Earth, beginning with the destruction of the Federation's headquarters using a mobile fortress. The attack reaches Olivernotes, throwing the town into chaos as Vagan mobile suits descend. Vagan leader Fezarl Ezelcant issues a full-scale invasion declaration, broadcast across the planet as the Federation falls into disarray. Flit, now 63 years old, leads Kio to a hidden hangar containing a new Gundam, the AGE-3. The AGE-3 features a core block system and combines with separate armor parts to form a complete mobile suit. Kio boards the Gundam for the first time and expresses shock at its secret storage location within their town. He launches to defend Olivernotes, facing the Vagan forces directly. The episode ends with Kio piloting the AGE-3 into battle, setting the stage for his confrontation with the Vagan pilot Zeheart.

The traitor is identified as Shanalua, a support crew member. Shanalua confesses that she sold information to the Vagan in exchange for money to treat her sick sister. Kio Asuno refuses to believe she is an enemy and disobeys his grandfather Flit's orders. Kio launches in the Gundam AGE-3 to confront Shanalua directly. Zeheart Galette leads a Vagan underwater infiltration team into the base. A Vagan mobile suit attacks Shanalua's escape pod. Shanalua pilots a mobile suit to shield Kio from the attacking Vagan forces. She rams her damaged suit into an enemy unit, causing an explosion that kills them both. Kio witnesses Shanalua's sacrifice. As the battle subsides, a Vagan soldier plants a powerful bomb inside the Rostrohlan base before retreating.
33大地に吠える
Vegan forces attack the new Federation headquarters Rosthran, turning the base into a battlefield. Zeheart plans to destroy the facility with multiple plasma particle bombs planted inside disabled mobile suit wrecks. Kio Asuno confronts Zeheart directly and expresses rage over Shanalua's death. The Federation discovers the bomb plot after noticing the unusually early Vegan withdrawal. Captain Einus and her crew coordinate the bomb disposal effort while Flit Asuno deduces the enemy's strategy. Engineers and pilots remove several bombs, but one remains hidden as the detonation timer approaches zero. Kio activates his X-Rounder abilities to locate the final bomb concealed behind a barrier. He carries the explosive outside the base and throws it away with seconds remaining on the timer. The explosion destroys the bomb but leaves the Gundam AGE-3 largely intact. The battleship Diva launches back into space to head for the Federation's lunar base, Luna Base, as part of a planned counteroffensive. Flit comforts Kio after the battle and explains the harsh realities of war, revealing a more tempered perspective compared to his earlier quest for revenge against Vegans. The episode ends with the Diva ascending through Vegan-controlled space, where the crew encounters an unidentified party waiting for them near the asteroid field Salgasso.
34The Space Pirates Bisdian
The Diva changes course for the Luna Base. In the Salgasso asteroid field, the space pirate group Bisidian ambushes the ship. The Vagan also arrive and attack both the Diva and the Bisidian forces. Kio sorties in the Gundam AGE-3 to defend the Diva. A Bisidian mobile suit intercepts a Vagan attack aimed at Kio. The Bisidian leader, Captain Ash, reveals himself as Asemu Asuno, Kio's father presumed missing for years. Flit confirms the identity to Kio after the battle. Asemu does not reunite with his family but instead tests Kio and Flit's abilities in combat. Before withdrawing, Asemu fires a capsule onto the AGE-3. The capsule contains the key to the EXA-DB, an ancient military database holding technology capable of ending the war. The Diva crew learns of this secret from the message left by Asemu. The episode introduces the new Gundam AGE-3 Orbital and new Vagan weapons. The conflict shifts to a race between the Federation and the Vagan to locate the EXA-DB.
36奪われるガンダム
The episode opens with Zeheart and Zanald both launching operations to capture the Gundam. Kio sorties in the AGE-3 to intercept them, but the two Vagan commanders engage him with competitive fervor, each aiming to outdo the other. Their combined, relentless attack overwhelms the AGE-3 and places Kio in critical danger. Flit launches in the AGE-1 to rescue his grandson and orders Kio to retreat to the Diva. Kio initially follows the order, but after hearing Flit state his intention to remain on the battlefield, Kio turns back. Kio's return to the fight leads directly into the Vagan trap, and he is captured after a fierce battle. With the Gundam seized, the Vagan forces withdraw. On the Diva, Captain Einus freezes, unable to issue commands following the loss. Arisa offers her encouragement, affirming that prioritizing the ship and crew's safety was the correct decision despite the outcome. Flit erupts in anger at the captain's hesitation, but Seric defends her judgment. Meanwhile, Zeheart prioritizes damage assessment over celebrating Zanald's aggressive tactics. The episode then shifts to the Madorna Workshop, where Flit receives a transmission from Captain Ash. Ash, who is secretly Asemu, offers to help rescue Kio. Flit reacts harshly to his son, who became a space pirate, and initially rejects the proposal. Despite the rejection, Asemu prepares to act, setting the stage for the three generations of Asuno pilots to unite. The episode ends with Kio being transported toward the Vagan homeland, where he will confront the reality of their world.
37The World of the Vagans
Kio Asuno,a prisoner aboard a Vagan ship, arrives at Second Moon, the Vagan capital orbiting Mars. Lord Ezelcant, the Vagan leader, orders guards to treat Kio as a guest rather than a captive. Ezelcant then shows Kio the colony's crowded living quarters and introduces him to its impoverished civilian population. Kio meets two siblings, Deen and Lu, and learns that Lu suffers from a fatal illness caused by Mars Rays. This disease slowly kills many Vagans, including Ezelcant's own son, Romy, whom Kio physically resembles. Ezelcant himself reveals he has only six months left to live. The Vagan leader explains that his people suppress love and emotional attachments to reduce the pain of inevitable loss. While Kio wanders the colony, Zanald Behart oversees the analysis of the captured Gundam AGE-3. Vagan scientists begin reverse-engineering the mobile suit to create their own Gundam unit. Kio witnesses firsthand how the Earth Federation abandoned the Mars colony decades ago, leaving its citizens to die from radiation poisoning. The episode contains no combat sequences, focusing entirely on Kio's exposure to Vagan civilian suffering. By the end, Kio understands that the Vagans fight not from pure malice but from desperation to reclaim a habitable world. This new knowledge directly conflicts with his grandfather Flit's lifelong hatred of all Vagans, setting up a generational clash over the true nature of their enemy.
38逃亡者キオ
Kio remains detained on Second Moon under Lord Ezelcant. Ezelcant attempts to extract information from Kio to analyze the Gundam. Kio refuses to cooperate unconditionally and instead demands medicine for a disease spreading in the Martian sphere. He provides the information to obtain the medicine for Lu,a Vagan girl he meets. Kio delivers the medicine to Lu to slow the progression of her illness. He spends time with Lu, and the two develop a bond as she experiences moments of happiness outside. Captain Ash of the Bisidian pirates infiltrates Second Moon to rescue Kio. Ash, revealed to be Kio's father Asemu, pilots the Dark Hound to break Kio out of the facility. The Vagan garrison forces scramble to respond but launch a disorganized defense. Asemu fights through the Vagan mobile suits to reach Kio's location. During the rescue attempt, Kio discovers that Lu has died from her disease despite the medication. Asemu and Kio escape Second Moon together, leaving Lu's diary behind. A new white Vagan mobile suit, resembling a Gundam, intercepts them as they flee. The unknown pilot of this new machine blocks their escape route and forces a confrontation.
39The Door to the New World
Kio and Asemu attempt to escape from Vagan territory, but Ezelcant intercepts them while piloting the newly completed Gundam Legilis. The Gundam Legilis demonstrates superior power, disabling multiple Bisidian mobile suits and quickly overwhelming the AGE-3 Orbital. Ezelcant reveals the truth of his master plan, Project Eden, to Kio during the battle. The plan involves creating a peaceful paradise populated only by selected humans, a goal that requires massive sacrifice and would exclude most of the current living population. Kio rejects Ezelcant's ideology and continues to fight against the Vagan leader. The Bisidian pirates join the battle and provide support, allowing Kio and Asemu to break free from the encirclement. Captain Ash engages the Gundam Legilis directly to buy time for Kio's escape. The Bisidian crew mourns their fallen comrades, but Vice Captain Raddock encourages them by explaining the pirates' way of honoring the dead. The AGE-3 Orbital sustains severe damage and becomes unable to continue fighting effectively. Asemu's pirate ship uses a tactical bluff involving colony drops to force the Vagan forces to retreat. Kio learns the full scope of Ezelcant's intentions and the harsh realities of the Vagan's true nature, leaving him to grapple with how to end the war when both sides advocate destructive solutions. Kio must now form his own path forward as he prepares to pilot a new Gundam.
40Kio's Resolve - Together with the Gundam
Kio Asuno returns to the Earth sphere and reunites with the crew of the Diva. He recounts his experiences in the Mars sphere to his grandfather Flit, but Flit’s response does not meet Kio’s hopes. The Earth Federation forces launch an operation to recapture Luna Base from Vagan control. Flit orders the preparation of the Plasma Diver Missile, a weapon whose excessive power has led to its prohibition. Flit claims he has obtained permission from the supreme commander, but his face remains fixed with hatred toward the Vagans. Asemu Asuno appears before Romary, who feels relief upon seeing Kio’s safe return. The couple reunites for the first time in thirteen years, with Asemu showing visible awkwardness. Kio pilots the new Gundam AGE-FX during the Luna Base recapture operation. He uses the mobile suit’s C-Funnels to destroy enemy mobile suits without injuring their pilots. Kio chooses to fight without killing, a philosophy distinct from both Flit’s and Asemu’s approaches. The episode closes with Kio determined to face the war on his own terms, setting up a direct clash between his non-lethal tactics and Flit’s total annihilation doctrine.
41Episode 41
The Earth Federation forces close in on the Luna Base, escalating the battle for its control. Zeheart Galette launches from the base in his Ghiraga to confront the enemy. Fram Nara pilots the newly deployed Fawn Farsia and joins the combat. Zeheart reunites with his old rival Asemu Asuno on the battlefield. The two former friends clash directly, exchanging blows and words. Asemu attempts to persuade Zeheart about the true nature of Ezelcant's plan, but Zeheart refuses to listen, declaring that Earth-born humans cannot understand. Kio Asuno fights Fram in the AGE-FX but deliberately avoids aiming at her cockpit. Fram learns that Zeheart always knew she originally approached him with the intent to avenge her brother Dole's death. Zeheart tells Fram directly that he kept her close because he needs her abilities, surprising her. Kio continues to hold back during the fight, trying to reason with Fram about ending the conflict. The battle remains evenly matched as both pilots use their bits and funnels. Zeheart steps back to observe Fram's performance against the Gundam. A new mobile suit appears on the battlefield, piloted by Girard Spriggan, a former Earth Federation officer who defected to the Vagans. Girard enters the fray as a new enemy for Kio and Asemu to face.
42Girard Spriggan
The Earth Federation and Vagan forces continue their fierce battle for control of the lunar base. A former Federation pilot,Girard Spriggan, enters the fight piloting a Vagan mobile suit. Kio Asuno senses through his X-Rounder abilities that Girard knows the inner workings of both the Federation and Vagan. Kio attempts to convince Girard to end the fighting through dialogue, but she refuses and attacks him relentlessly. The episode reveals Girard's real name as Reina Spriggan. Her lover, test pilot Girard Fornell, died during a Federation X-Rounder experiment that military officials covered up. After the Federation silenced Reina by promoting her two ranks, she abandoned the Federation and adopted her deceased lover's name. Asemu Asuno tries to persuade Zeheart to stop fighting, but Zeheart remains unmoved. Flit Asuno arrives on the battlefield, maintaining his uncompromising stance of exterminating the Vagan. Girard's X-Rounder abilities suddenly go berserk, incapacitating her and affecting nearby X-Rounders including Kio and Zeheart. The Federation forces break through enemy defenses and begin infiltrating the lunar base. The three Gundams prepare to unite against the Vagan in the coming assault.
43Splendid! Triple Gundam
The Federation forces prepare to launch the Plasma Diver Missile against the Vagan's Luna Base. Seric Abis enters the base and advises the Vagan soldiers to surrender before the missile launches. In the surrounding space,Girard Spriggan loses control of her amplified X-Rounder abilities. Her powers seize control of all remote weapons in the battlefield, including the bits from the Farsia, Ghiraga, and the AGE-FX. The stolen bits attack both Federation and Vagan forces indiscriminately. Asemu remains unaffected by Girard's psychic attack because he lacks X-Rounder capabilities. Kio attempts to talk Girard down during the battle, but she refuses to listen. Flit takes a shot and destroys Girard's mobile suit while Kio tries to reason with her. Zeheart communicates with the dying Girard through a psychic link, telling her she fought for justice until the end. The Vagan soldiers inside Luna Base agree to surrender under terms that release their enlisted men but take officers as prisoners. Zeheart and his companion retreat aboard a fleeing Vagan ship. Kio physically blocks Flit from shooting the retreating enemies. Following the battle, the Vagan's mobile fortress, the Second Moon, begins moving from Mars towards Earth orbit.
44別れゆく道
The Earth Federation secures victory at the Lunar Base and discovers data indicating that Vagan used fragments of the EXA-DB,a forbidden technology, to develop mobile suits. Ezelcant reveals to Zeheart that Project Eden aims not merely to reclaim Earth but to select superior human specimens to create a new, evolved humanity. Zeheart accuses Ezelcant of trying to become a god through this selection, but Ezelcant denies this and asks Zeheart to become a light that illuminates humanity's future instead. Despite recognizing the madness in Ezelcant's vision, Zeheart accepts the inheritance of Project Eden and takes command of all Vagan forces. Ezelcant, suffering from Mars Ray disease and nearing death, entrusts Zeheart with the Gundam Legilis before collapsing. Zeheart launches in the Legilis and travels to the asteroid belt where the EXA-DB is believed to reside, following reports of a mysterious mobile suit encounter. On the Federation side, Flit Asuno returns to active duty as commander and orders the summary execution of all Vagan prisoners taken from the Lunar Base. Asemu and Kio confront Flit over his uncompromising hatred, but Flit insists that the Vagan are evil demons who must be exterminated. Kio refuses to change his belief that mutual understanding remains possible, while Flit remains committed to becoming a savior by destroying the Vagan. Zeheart arrives at the asteroid belt and encounters a colossal mobile suit, Sid, which appears to guard the EXA-DB. The giant suit's power forces Zeheart to solidify his resolve to carry on Ezelcant's will and defeat the machine. Zeheart's duel with Sid determines whether the EXA-DB falls into Vagan hands or unleashes its destructive power on both factions.
45Cid the Destroyer
Zeheart confronts the mobile armor SID alone in the Gundam Legilis. He seeks to master the machine and reclaim the EXA-DB from the fortress. SID overpowers the Legilis and deflects all of Zeheart's attacks. A flashback reveals SID previously destroyed Asemu's Gundam AGE-2 years ago, leaving him for dead. The Bisidian pirate ship arrives, and Asemu launches in the Dark Hound to join the battle. Asemu warns Zeheart that Ezelcant's Project Eden will sacrifice his own comrades. Zeheart ignores the warning and insists he will control the EXA-DB's cursed power. The two pilots combine their attacks to damage the massive mobile armor. Zeheart fully awakens the Legilis by opening its Gundam eyes and dodges SID's counterattacks. They locate the EXA-DB chamber, but Asemu orders its destruction rather than allowing Zeheart to seize it. The episode closes with Sid reactivating and the EXA-DB intact, revealing both survived the assault. Zeheart gains confidence in piloting the Legilis but fails to secure the database. The Earth Federation forces prepare for their assault on the Vagan space fortress La Gramis.
46Space Fortress La Glamis
The Vagans execute their large-scale invasion plan as the Second Moon reaches Earth's sphere and merges with the space fortress La Glamis. The Earth Federation launches a capture operation against the fortress. Flit Asuno maintains his goal of annihilating the Vagans, while his grandson Kio wants to end the war without causing casualties. Fram Nara declares she would sacrifice her life for Zeheart Galette to reach Eden. Zeheart responds by calling her an important subordinate, implicitly ordering her to survive. The Federation fleet hesitates to fire on La Glamis because Vagan ships lie in the Digma Zenon cannon's trajectory. The Vagan ships are unmanned decoys. Once the Federation forces gather on the firing line, Zeheart calmly orders the cannon to fire. The Digma Zenon inflicts massive damage on the Federation fleet. Flit predicts the attack and maneuvers the battleship Diva out of the cannon's path, saving the ship. The Federation reorganizes and attempts a center breakthrough assault on La Glamis. Commander Zanald Beyhart learns that Ezelcant has transferred full authority to Zeheart. Zanald decides to betray Zeheart and Fram during the battle. Kio pilots the Gundam AGE-FX but refuses to use its Burst Mode, which would increase destructive power. Deen Anon, a Vagan youth Kio befriended on the Second Moon, launches into battle as an enemy pilot. The next episode pits Kio against his former friend as the battle for La Glamis intensifies.
48絶望の煌き
Zeheart orders the Second Moon to redirect energy to La Gramis and fire the Digmazenon cannon again, accepting the sacrifice of any Vagan soldiers in the firing line. Fram reluctantly obeys Zeheart's command to lure the Gundams into the cannon's trajectory. Flit senses the Vagan plan, predicts the Diva's destruction, and orders an immediate evacuation of the ship. The Diva crew transfers to the Bisidian pirate ship moments before the Digmazenon cannon fires and sinks the Diva, also destroying the AGE Builder. Obright engages Fram and Leil in combat, defeats both X-Rounders, and dies after fulfilling his promise to Remi. The cannon fails to destroy any Gundam, leaving Zeheart isolated and his strategy in ruins. Zeheart launches in the Gundam Legilis to fight Asemu's Gundam AGE-2 Dark Hound. Zeheart's mental state deteriorates as he hallucinates fallen comrades pressuring him to succeed. Asemu defeats Zeheart in combat, and Zeheart confesses he wanted a normal life before dying. With the Vagan commander dead and the Diva lost, the Earth Federation forces must regroup for the final assault on La Gramis in the next episode.
49End of a Long Journey
Commander Falk Oklamand orders Zera Gins to pilot the Vagan Gear mobile suit. Zera destroys several Federation mobile suits before confronting the three Gundams piloted by Flit,Asemu, and Kio Asuno. The three Asuno family members cooperate and overwhelm the Vagan Gear. The mobile armor Sid arrives and merges with the Vagan Gear, creating a more powerful threat that damages the space fortress La Gramis. Flit Asuno prepares to launch a plasma潜航 missile from the second moon to destroy the Vagans permanently. Kio, Asemu, and the memory of Yurin L'Ciel urge Flit to forgive the Vagans instead of annihilating them. Flit halts the missile launch and coordinates a joint effort between the Federation and Vagan forces to detach La Gramis from the second moon, saving the colony. Kio Asuno, piloting the Gundam AGE-FX, destroys the Sid-possessed Vagan Gear, ending the war. Ezelcant dies peacefully after entrusting the future of Earth to Kio. Using data from the EXA-DB and the AGE System, scientists develop the Reverse System to neutralize Mars Rays, allowing humans to inhabit the Mars sphere safely. The final scene shows an elderly Asemu and an aged Kio standing before a statue of Flit Asuno in Brucia, with Kio commenting that Earth is doing well. The episode concludes the three-generation conflict, leaving the legacy of the Asuno family and the resolution of the Vagan war as the series' final statement.
