Description
The Praetorian, once a revered superhero in the Union of Justice celebrated for thwarting global threats, spiraled into infamy as a corrupt enforcer and secondary antagonist. His descent followed 300 criminal charges spanning abuse of authority, trading sexual favors for villainous releases, and systemic misconduct. Though former allies testified against him, he evaded conviction by leveraging his past heroism and an enigmatic high-caliber legal team, securing acquittal.

Expelled from the Union, he became the ruthless head of security for retired supervillain Christopher Matts, alias The Bastard, overseeing criminal enterprises. Tasked with security operations, intimidation, and violent enforcement, he demonstrated fanatical loyalty, capturing thief Kasey during her heist attempt. Employing truth serum to extract intel on her crew’s plans, he confronted the Supercrooks, deploying teleportation, self-duplication, laser vision, and elemental manipulation. His near-victory unraveled when outmatched by The Gladiator, a former comrade.

Their clash exposed his hubris: initially taunting his opponent, he crumbled into cowardice upon recognizing defeat, begging for mercy before a single punch from The Gladiator inflicted permanent brain damage, cementing his downfall. Five years later, he resurfaced in court, cleared of corruption despite public speculation of collusion in his acquittal.

Physically imposing with dark red hair, grey eyes, and a golden eagle-adorned uniform, The Praetorian wielded brutality and sadism, enforcing a transactional moral code. His unpredictability surfaced when he spared Johnny Bolt’s crew after psychic persuasion by Kasey, contrasting his routine violence against civilians and subordinates.

Boasting approximately 200 transient powers—most lasting 24 hours—his core abilities included cloning, teleportation, super strength, and technopathy. Though formidable, strategic shortcomings and overconfidence left him vulnerable to coordinated adversaries, underscoring his fatal blend of might and fragility.
