Description
Mega Shogun, also known as Death Buffalo, is a major antagonist in the first story arc of the series. His true identity is that of a human named Masato Okuzawa, who five years prior to the events of the series experienced an event that led him to join the Dogma Kingdom. Within the organization, he holds the rank of the only eminent chief, serving directly under Emperor Terror Macro. In his humanoid form as General Megarl, he is a tall, imposing figure clad in a military-style uniform and helmet, projecting an aura of authority and menace. His personality is marked by unwavering loyalty to the Dogma Kingdom and a ruthless dedication to its cause. He is a proud and disciplined commander who believes in the superiority of his organization and takes personal responsibility for eliminating the hero Kamen Rider Super-1. His motivation is to fulfill the Dogma Kingdom's goal of conquering Earth and purging those they consider weak, and he views the cyborg hero as the primary obstacle to that mission.
In the story, Mega Shogun serves as the primary field commander for the Dogma Kingdom during the first twenty-two episodes. He personally leads attacks against Super-1 and his allies, often riding his horse Baraga and demonstrating mastery of the sword. He is the final and most formidable adversary in the Dogma Kingdom's initial campaign. Key relationships include his subordinate Dogma Fighters and bodyguards, whom he commands with authority, and his steed Baraga, which he rides into battle. He also holds a direct chain of command to Emperor Terror Macro, to whom he reports and from whom he receives orders. His development is limited but significant: he remains a steadfast and capable general throughout his run, but when all of his subordinates have been defeated, he undergoes a transformation, shedding his humanoid form to reveal his true monstrous form, Death Buffalo. This one-winged angel transformation represents his final, desperate attempt to destroy Super-1. Notably, Death Buffalo possesses enhanced physical strength and durability, and he is skilled in close-quarters combat. His defeat comes when Super-1 uses his Super Rider Spark Kick, destroying the monster and ending the first major threat posed by the Dogma Kingdom.
