Description
Gosuke Saruwatari, also known as Fire Kong, is a character who appears as an antagonist in the Kamen Rider Super-1 series. He is a martial arts prodigy, described as a karate savant, who becomes an agent of the evil Dogma Kingdom. His human disguise is that of a man who infiltrates a NASA research facility by posing as a scientist, which allows him to gather intelligence on the Super-1 project.

The primary motivation for Gosuke Saruwatari is to serve the Dogma Kingdom's goals. He initially attempts to coerce the NASA scientist Dr. Henry into working for the evil organization, intending to use the Super-1 cyborg as a weapon of mass destruction. When Dr. Henry refuses to cooperate, Saruwatari is tasked with destroying the Super-1 project. He carries out this order by assassinating the NASA members involved, including Dr. Henry, and planting explosives in the research center.

His role in the story is that of an initial direct threat to the protagonist, Kazuya Oki, the transformed Kamen Rider Super-1. After his mission in the United States, he returns to Japan and establishes a martial arts dojo. Using intimidation tactics, he and his students forcefully seize district property, establishing a criminal operation. This action brings him into direct conflict with Kazuya Oki, who confronts him while still in human form. After being defeated in this hand-to-hand fight, Saruwatari's monstrous identity is exposed, causing his students to flee.

Following this exposure, he fully transforms into his kaijin form, Fire Kong, a gorilla-like cyborg monster. He is ultimately destroyed by Kamen Rider Super-1 using the Whirlwind Super Kick technique. Saruwatari is later revived as a member of the Dogma Revenge Corps in a movie feature, where he is eventually destroyed by Kamen Rider Stronger.

In terms of personality, Gosuke Saruwatari is shown to be deceptive and ruthless, as demonstrated by his infiltration of NASA and the assassination of scientists. He is also power-hungry and tyrannical, using intimidation and force to take over a district in Japan for his own criminal enterprise. His key relationships are with his masters in the Dogma Kingdom, who give him his orders, and with his adversary, Kazuya Oki, the man who ultimately defeats him.

The character possesses notable abilities both in his human and monster forms. As a human, he exhibits incredible superhuman strength, capable of stopping a moving car with his bare hands. In his true form as Fire Kong, he retains this super strength and is additionally armed with a volatile flamethrower attached to his head, which he uses as a primary weapon against his enemies. His development sees him transition from a covert agent to an open criminal leader, and ultimately to a revived combatant seeking revenge.
