Description
Hyakume Babaa, also known as the Hundred-Eyed Hag, is a kaijin antagonist from the series. She is introduced as the aunt of Intelligence Staff Officer Maribaron, establishing her as a figure connected to the villainous hierarchy opposing the hero. Her background identifies her as a powerful witch of the hyakume variety, and she is said to be two thousand years old, suggesting a long history of accruing dark power and experience.
In terms of personality, while direct traits are not extensively detailed, her actions define her as cruel and calculating. She demonstrates a willingness to use deceptive and underhanded tactics to achieve her goals, such as disguising herself as a harmless old woman to get close to her victims. Her primary motivations center on serving the interests of the villainous organization she is aligned with and directly confronting the series protagonist. She seeks to eliminate the hero and aids in the plans of other antagonists, using her unique powers to gain an advantage in battle.
Within the story, Hyakume Babaa plays the role of a formidable monster-of-the-week, posing a unique threat that requires the hero to utilize his various forms to overcome. Her most notable action is capturing the hero's allies. She succeeds in absorbing Kyoko, a key supporting character, into her own body. Later, she also manages to absorb the hero himself, Kotaro, along with his other friends, Reiko and Joe. This act of imprisonment becomes the central conflict of the episode she appears in, forcing the hero to escape and rescue his companions.
Her key relationship is explicitly with Maribaron, whom she is the aunt of. This familial tie likely positions her as a more personally invested lieutenant within the enemy ranks, though her role remains that of a powerful subordinate sent to fight the hero directly. Her development is primarily shown through the progression of the battle. After being trapped inside her, the hero transforms into Biorider, whose body can become fluid-like, allowing him to escape from her internal grasp. He then changes into Roborider, whose mechanical strength enables him to free the other captured individuals. With his allies safe, the hero reverts to his primary form, Kamen Rider BLACK RX, for the final confrontation.
Hyakume Babaa possesses a range of notable abilities. She can disguise herself as a human to move unnoticed in society. Her body has a high resistance to poisons, making conventional attacks less effective against her. Her primary power involves the many eyes that cover her form, through which she can drain the life force of others. She wields a cane as a weapon, which can emit radioactive flames and powerful energy beams. In a final desperate act, she transforms into a giant, floating Eye form. However, this proves to be her undoing, as the hero summons his Revolcane weapon and throws it directly into her eye, leading to her destruction.
