OVA
Description
Minami Nanami, nicknamed Mimimi, is an energetic and popular high school student. Her appearance includes long blue hair—depicted as black in the manga—typically in a ponytail, pale skin, and blue eyes reflecting traditional Japanese aesthetics. She adapts her uniform seasonally, tying a sweater around her waist in summer and layering it under a blazer in winter.

Her outwardly cheerful personality masks deep-seated insecurities. She habitually prioritizes group harmony over personal feelings, suppressing her own opinions to preserve pleasant dynamics. Despite this, she displays tenacity in pursuing goals, exemplified by persistent efforts to befriend the withdrawn Hanabi Natsubayashi. Mimimi expresses affection through physical contact like hugging or stroking skin, particularly with Hanabi and Aoi Hinami. She enjoys assigning nicknames, dubbing Hanabi "Tama-chan" and Fumiya Tomozaki "Brain."

In the main narrative, Mimimi regularly walks home with Tomozaki, teasing him about his potential feelings for Aoi. She confides in him about her conformity to others' expectations. Though excelling academically and athletically, she perpetually ranks second to Aoi, a frustration that drives her to quit the track club. Tomozaki and Hanabi later convince her to return. She runs against Aoi for student council president but loses.

The spin-off *Minami Nanami Wants to Shine* diverges: she declines the presidential race and pursues modeling at her mother Keiko’s suggestion. As an amateur model for "Prologue," she initially relishes attention but grapples with authenticity, curating a social media persona she deems inauthentic. Romantic elements emerge with Tomozaki during a weekend outing discussing self-improvement. Their relationship accelerates by the spin-off’s conclusion, leaving identity themes unresolved.

Mimimi shares a sisterly bond with Hanabi, fiercely protective of her. She regards Aoi as both friend and rival, while her dynamic with Tomozaki shifts from teasing to romantic interest in the spin-off. Classmate Takahiro Mizusawa discerns her feelings for Tomozaki in the light novels. Her mother, Keiko, facilitates her modeling career.
