Description
Kazumi Fukuda is a student of Shikanotoride Junior High School, designated as female student number fifteen, who appears in the film Battle Royale II: Requiem. She is known for being the leader of a small group of delinquent girls, which includes her close friends Yuka Mifune and Ai Yazawa. Her outward appearance and behavior are rooted in a deep-seated fear of being alone; in an effort to stand out and assert an identity that would prevent others from ignoring her, she dressed in an outrageous and flamboyant manner.

Before being forced into the Battle Royale program, Kazumi's life was marked by personal tragedy and hardship. Following the death of her father, she became a target of harassment, which ultimately led to her transferring to Shikanotoride. Despite the distance or circumstances, she maintains a deep respect for her mother, who continues to support her financially from afar. Her rebellious streak and leadership among the other girls appear to be a defense mechanism developed in response to these experiences of loss and isolation.

In the context of the Program, Kazumi’s role is tragically brief but pivotal in demonstrating the new, crueler rules of this iteration of the game. The students are fitted with collars linked to a specific partner; if one partner dies or moves more than fifty meters away from the other, both collars will detonate. Kazumi is paired with a male student named Shintaro Makimura. When Shintaro refuses to participate in the program and is immediately executed by the authorities, Kazumi becomes the second victim of the new rules.

In a panic as her collar begins to beep, signaling its imminent explosion, she rushes to Shintaro's body, desperately begging him to wake up. When this fails, she turns to her classmates, pleading for help or a way to remove the collar. However, the other students, terrified and unwilling to risk their own lives, shove her away. Her story concludes with her running towards the door in a final, futile attempt to escape, crying out for her mother just before her collar explodes, killing her instantly.

Her key relationships are defined by her role as a leader to her delinquent friends and her crucial, though forced, partnership with Shintaro Makimura. The loyalty she expects from her group is absent in her final moments, as even those friends reject her plea for help. Kazumi shows no significant development over the course of the film, as her death occurs almost immediately after the Program begins, before she has the chance to navigate the battlefield or form new alliances. Her primary motivation in her final moments is simple survival and a desperate, childlike longing for the comfort of her mother. She possesses no notable combat or strategic abilities, as she is killed by the game's technology rather than through any direct confrontation or action on the battlefield.
