Ai Yazawa is a minor character in the film Battle Royale II: Requiem. She is a student of Shikanotoride Junior High School, attending class 3-B, which is the class selected to participate in the BRII program. Physically, she is a fifteen-year-old female with a height of 161 centimeters.

Within the social structure of her class, Ai holds a position of some authority. She serves as the second-in-command to Kazumi Fukuda among the group of delinquent students. Her background is marked by a significant shift in behavior; she was a good student with strong grades and played the piano until an incident in the sixth grade. After being harassed by a boy at that time, her personality changed, and she began to act in a spoiled manner.

Her role in the story is brief, as she is one of the first students to die in the program. During the initial phase, Ai attempts to escape from a cage alongside Kazumi, but their effort fails. When fellow student Shintaro Makimura dies, it triggers the explosive collar of Kazumi Fukuda, causing it to begin beeping. At this moment, Ai pleads for help from her friends, but they push her back, resulting in her death. Shortly after, during the first mission assault launched by the terrorist group Wild Seven, the students' boats are attacked. A rocket hits the first boat, and the resulting explosion kills Ai along with the other students on board. Her official announcement order of death is 37th, though some analyses suggest her actual position may be 36th. She is paired with another student named Hibiki Yano in the program's paired system.
