Description
Purple Rat, also referred to as Purple Mouse, is a Destructoid that appears in the Android Kikaider television series. It is the twenty-first Destructoid created by the evil organization DARK under the direction of its leader, Professor Gill. Its Japanese name, Murasaki Nezumi, literally translates to purple mouse, and consistent with the series' pattern, it is the purple animal-themed member of the Destructoid lineup, in this case based on a rat or mouse.
The character appears in the twenty-first episode, an installment titled Brutality! Purple Rat's Poison Fangs. In that episode, Purple Rat infiltrates a laboratory dedicated to the study of communicable diseases with the goal of producing a new plague for DARK. This mission sets it apart from many of the more straightforwardly combative Destructoids, since its objective is biological warfare and the creation of a devastating disease rather than a direct physical confrontation alone.
In terms of personality, Purple Rat is presented as an obedient instrument of DARK rather than an individual with a developed inner life.
