Professor Mayzel serves as an archaeologist and scientist for the ARCAM Corporation. His first documented mission dispatched him to Turkey's Mount Ararat research facility to investigate Noah's Ark and determine its potential for opening. During this assignment, Colonel MacDougal of the Machiner's Platoon coerced him into entering the Ark under threat of executing surviving ARCAM personnel. MacDougal attempted to persuade him to activate the Ark to eradicate all terrestrial life, but he refused. Yu Ominae and Jean Jacquemonde intervened and rescued him inside the Ark. Following their arrival and Yu's confrontation with MacDougal, the Colonel triggered the Ark's self-destruct system, resulting in his death.

Mayzel reappears during the final story arcs, deployed alongside Margaret, Rie Yamabishi, Eva McMahon, and Yoshino Somei to investigate the South Pole Shrine. There, he participated in a revolt against Trident Corporation operatives Henry Garnum and Larry Markson. He and his fellow researchers actively assisted Yu, Jean, and Iwao Akatsuki—a Trident defector—in seizing control of Trident's regional operations.
