Description
Dokuroxy, also known as Dokurokushe, is the primary antagonist of the first half of the series. His real name is Kushi, and he was once a talented teacher at the Magic School and a close friend of the school's Principal. Driven by a desire to prevent a prophesied calamity, he began researching forbidden dark magic, which ultimately led to his demise. However, his powerful ambition survived, and he was reborn as a skeletal, ghost-like entity known as Dokuroxy, the leader of the Dark Magicians.
In his skeletal form, Dokuroxy has a mysterious and intimidating presence. He wears a dark green robe with a mantle and an off-white cape. His head appears as a black skull with tassels, and his hands are bony. He rarely speaks, conserving energy, and communicates primarily through body movements that only his loyal subordinate, Yamoh, can interpret. His motivations are singular and obsessive: to obtain the Linkle Stone Emerald and the Linkle Smartbook. He believes that by absorbing their power, he can plunge both the Magic World and the Non-Magic World into darkness, fulfilling his corrupted wish for absolute power.
Dokuroxy plays the role of a distant but formidable evil overlord. For much of the story, he remains in his hideout while his followers Batty, Sparda, and Gametsu search for the emerald and battle the Precure. His most significant relationship is with Yamoh, a gecko-like creature he created who acts as his loyal interpreter and right-hand man, fiercely devoted to his master's will. His past friendship with the Principal forms a key part of his background, with their close bond as schoolmates and eventual tragic falling out serving as a dark mirror to the main characters' own friendship. Unlike his current monstrous form, his human self as Kushi was a serious and hardworking individual who surprisingly had a sweet tooth, a trait that persisted even after his transformation.
Over the course of the story, Dokuroxy undergoes a significant development when he finally obtains the Linkle Stone Emerald and Smartbook. He uses them to transform into a giant skeletal giant, beginning to drain the life force from both worlds. In his final battle, he is confronted by the Precure. After a fierce fight, he is purified by their Diamond Eternal attack, which destroys his skeletal body. His lingering dark energy is then purified by Ha-chan, which allows the spirit of the original Kushi to be freed from his torment. In his final moment, Kushi is seen as a human once more, making peace with the Principal before ascending to the afterlife.

Even after his defeat, his influence lingers.
