TV-Series
Description
Mayu Ueno is a middle school student and a supporting character in the story, known primarily as Chie Satonaka’s closest friend. The two first connected over shared lunchtime conversations, gradually forming a deep and genuine bond. Mayu is energetic and has a keen interest in fashion, but her personality extends far beyond a single trait. She actively pursues traditional arts such as ikebana and the tea ceremony, and she also participates in dance. At school, she serves as the sports committee representative and is a member of the cooking club, reflecting a versatile and engaged nature. Her role in the narrative is to ground Chie in the ordinary experiences of school life, providing support, companionship, and a touch of youthful enthusiasm. Through her friendship with Chie, Mayu helps bridge the gap between Chie’s dual responsibilities as a middle-schooler and a landlady. Mayu herself does not undergo dramatic personal transformation over the course of the series, but her unwavering friendship and vibrant presence contribute to the warmth and slice-of-life atmosphere. She has no particular supernatural or specialized abilities; rather, her notable traits are her sociability, sense of style, and willingness to try a wide range of activities.
