Description
Awin Sidelet is a supporting character in Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky. He is a twenty-year-old man with gray hair and glasses, standing 175 centimeters tall, and is known for his carefree yet capable demeanor.

In terms of background, Awin works as a balloon maintenance mechanic for the engineering team in the town of Colseit. His responsibilities extend beyond just airships, as he is also tasked with the upkeep of carriages and various public facilities throughout the town. This work has made him a popular and well-regarded figure in the community. He is also the cousin of one of the main protagonists, Escha Malier, who affectionately refers to him as big brother.

Awin's personality is defined by a strong sense of duty and a frank, straightforward nature. He is a caring individual who is highly knowledgeable about mechanical arts, a skill he has possessed since a young age, being naturally good with his hands and adept at building various things. Despite his reliable and hardworking side, he carries a giant, custom-made hammer with him, which reflects his practical and hands-on approach to problems.

His primary motivation stems from a childhood dream: to find a legendary green paradise said to exist beyond a location known as the Edge of the World. This ambition is the very reason he became an engineer, as he believes building a vessel capable of reaching this fabled place is the key to discovering it. He greatly admires the adventurer Reyfer Luckberry, which further fuels his desire for exploration and discovery.

Within the story, Awin serves as a key ally to Escha and the other protagonist, Logy. He is the first additional party member to join the group, assisting in their investigations and lending his mechanical expertise to various projects. One of his most significant contributions is helping to construct a mighty airship called the Dreadnought, which is intended to reach unexplored ruins. His personal questline forms a significant part of the narrative, focusing on his search for the Edge of the World.

Awin undergoes notable development through this personal journey. He discovers an old report from a previous expedition corps that had searched for the paradise. The report reveals that the corps did not find the paradise, only a sea of clouds beyond a rocky cliff, but had lied about their failure out of shame. While initially disappointed, Awin does not give up on his dream. Instead, he resolves to build his own ship and continue the search beyond the sea of clouds, believing the legendary paradise still exists somewhere in the dusk sky. This quest leads to a dedicated character ending for him.

Regarding his abilities in combat, Awin is a frontline fighter who wields his handmade, modified giant hammer. He is characterized by high defense and HP, making him a durable presence in battle. His skills include Double Impact, a physical attack that reduces an enemy's defense; Sparkbitter, which deals wind damage; and Break Impact, which increases damage taken by the target. His most powerful finishing attack is called Infinity Spiral, which delivers massive physical damage to a single enemy.
